A WOX member phoned the travel agency at the Xiamen International Ferry Terminal on (+86-592) 2076493. The agency advised that the passengers who have the visa or visa free countries passport holder may enter Jinmen, but the passengers have to make sure that they have the visa to return to China.

Foreigners’ visa requirement

Foreigners can now visit Jinmen or Kinmen from Xiamen by Ferry. For more information and to secure tickets, call Apple Travel on (+86=592) 5053122 or visit its website at www.appletravel.cn.

Ferries to Jinmen are departing hourly from Xiamen International Ferry Terminal everyday.

From Xiamen: 8:30am – 5:30pm (every one hour)

From Kinmen: 8:30am – 5:30pm (every one hour)

Chinese visa requirement

It seems that in the near future, Mainland Chinese will have 72 hrs no-visa landing at the island for minimum 3 person group tour with a 3 days and two night schedule.

The one way ticket for the ferry is 150 (ferry) + 30 (admin fee). Passenger pays a total of 180rmb for a single trip. The earliest ferry is 8:30am and the last ferry is 5:30pm. Passengers are required to arrive at the terminal at least 30 minutes before the departure.
