一、关于what would you do if 用法的疑问

有一年高考的单项选择考过这样一道题:

  what would you do if it____ tomorrow?

  A: rain                              B rains

  C will rain                          D:is raining

  答案为B,解析:,it为第三人称单数,所所以答案为B.

  然而我的疑惑就是看了what would you do if.....的造句如下:

(1)what would you do if your father didn't approve your plan?

(2)what would you do if you had to leave now?

(3)waht would you do if they didn't trust you ?

  这些句子的从句不都是过去时吗? 不是说条件状语从句用一般现在时表将来的吗?  我知道这一定不矛盾,

what would you do if..是假设的意思...如果是说将来的事情,像题中的..就要用一般现在时.

而如果是说现在或以前发生过的事的话,就要用过去时了..和if的用法很相象

二、有一道题是这样的：

What if you_______yourself in the laboratory?

A.would clone C.cloned

我觉得是A，可答案是C。谁能告诉我为什么。。。顺便详细介绍一下what if的用法

我在课本上看到一句话：What if you could combine a cow and a tiger?

如果刚才的问题真的是选C的话，那这句和那句有啥区别呢

如果... , 会怎样?

if 是用来假设一个状况:  If[状况], then[后果].

状况子句要用过去式(did), 后果子句用过去未来式(would do).

举例

问: What if you cloned yourself in the laboratory?

答: Then I would play chess games with my clone.

could 是can的过去式, 所以用在状况子句.

would 是用在后果子句.

举例

问: What if you could combine a cow and a tiger?

答: Then there would be a new animal specie.

What if 是等于 what would happen if :)

.what if从理论上讲后面可以跟一般现在时，也可以跟一般过去式的虚拟语气，但从数量上看虚拟语气很少用，但依然可以根据语境选择跟虚拟语气。

三、what if：如果...将会怎么样
例句与用法:
1. What if it is true? 如果这是真的又该如何呢？
2. What if he doesn't agree? 如果他不同意该怎么办呢？
3. What if he comes back now? 如果他现在回来怎么办？
4. What if I fail! 即使我失败了又怎样

PS：what if 和 if 的区别：
简单点说就是，what if的意思是“如果...将会怎么样”.有 “要是”的含义，比if带点肯定的怀疑在里面。
What if it is true? 要是这是真的这么办呢？
What if he doesn't agree?   如果他不同意该怎么办呢？
而if仅仅就是“如果/假设”的意思。
If it is true? 如果是真的呢？
If he doesn't agree?   如果他不同意呢？
