Question1
-Please give a brief summary of your current recreational and
leisure activities, including sports and hobbies.
Talking about recreational activities, I do regular aerobic
exercises like jogging, swimming and brisk walking. Not only are
these exercises helpful for maintaining my body slim but also they
cultivate the spirit of volition and persistence. In addition, I
really enjoy reading some business-related newspapers and magazines
at spare time, such as The Economic Observer and CBN Weekly, which
extend my understanding of the world of business.
Question2 -What clubs and societies are you a member of and
in what capacity?
I have been a Senior Fellow at Young Volunteers Association of DUT
since sophomore year of college. Soon after joining the
association, I participated in a one-year program named
“Encouragement with Love” as a volunteer teacher in Miaoling
Primary School of Ganjingzi District where many of the pupils are
children of migrants. With all my heart and effort, I succeeded in
improving the academic performance of those with a weak foundation
after two semesters. During this period I developed my patience and
leant how to be committed to our communities.
The opportunity of volunteering for 2008 CHINAOCS International
Talents Fair was another valuable experience for me. I organized
and participated in a group of volunteers dedicated for area
arrangement, stage decoration and guest guidance. The performance
of our team received a favorable review from the sponsor and in the
process I strengthened my cooperation, leadership, organization and
communication skills.
Question3 -What factors have influenced your career
choice?
At the very beginning, I was impressed by a book called Chasing
Daylight written by Eugene O'Kelly, a former CEO of KPMG, which
recounts how he played out the final parts of a life cut short.
From then on, I knew KPMG and the Big Four accounting firms, which
led to my interest in the accountancy and professional services
firms, and I began to spend time in collecting relevant information
as much as possible about this industry.
For auditors, having the ability to put people at ease and
understanding life from the auditee's perspective is an important
quality. I am personally interested in dealing with people and I am
confident in my capabilities to meet customer satisfaction in a
professional way, particularly in the face of adversity. My
part-time experience at IBM Global Delivery Center has definitely
improved the people skills and the ability to deal with all types
of people.
Auditors deal with dynamic business sectors and they have the
ability to walk into an organization and within a short period of
time have an instinctive knowledge of what the state of play is
within that organization. They are able to build a picture of what
the situation is within an organization and then translate that
into what it might mean for the organization in the future. That is
why the audit profession attracts me, for I am a dynamic candidate
looking for a challenging work environment. Becoming an auditor can
help me clarify what I want to accomplish.
