One's devotional service is spoiled when he becomes too entangled in the following six activities: (1) eating more than necessary or collecting more funds than required; (2) overendeavoring for mundane things that are very difficult to obtain; (3) talking unnecessarily about mundane subject matters; (4) Practicing the scriptural rules and regulations only for the sake of following them and not for the sake of spiritual advancement, or rejecting the rules and regulations of the scriptures and working independently or whimsically; (5) associating with worldly-minded persons who are not interested in Krsna conscionsness; and (6) being greedy for mundane achievements.

 

人一旦太过纠缠于以下六种活动,他的奉献服务便会受到损害:(一)食用超过所需的或收集款项超过所需的;(二)过份追求很难得到的世俗事物;(三)不必要地谈论世俗题旨;(四)实习经典上的规范守则,只是为了跟随它们的原故,而不是为了灵修进步的原故;或者反对经典上的规范守则,独立地和依随自己的意念活动;(五)与思想世俗的人联系,但这些人对知觉奎师那(Krishna)并没有兴趣;(六)太过渴望得到世俗的成功。

There are six principles favorable to the execution of pure devotional service: (1) being enthusiastic, (2) endeavoring with confidence, (3) being patient, (4) acting according to regulative principles [such as sravanam kirtanam visnoh smaranam--hearing, chanting and remembering Krsna], (5) abandoning the association of nondevotees, and (6) following in the footsteps of the previous acaryas. These six principles undoubtedly assure the complete success of pure devotional service.

 

这里有六种守则有利于履行纯粹的奉献服务:(1)满腔热情;(2)做事尽力有信心;(3)有耐心;(4)依据规范守则行事[例如聆听奎师那(Krishna)、唱颂奎师那(Krishna)、忆念奎师那(Krishna)(çravaëam kértanaà viñëoù smaraëam)];(5)放弃和不奉献的人联谊;(6)跟随先前的阿查尔亚的步伐。毫无疑问,这六种守则确定纯粹奉献服务圆满功成。

When first-class devotional service develops, one must be devoid of all material desires, knowledge obtained by monistic philosophy, and fruitive action. The devotee must constantly serve Kåñëa favorably, as Kåñëa desires.

Bhakti, or devotional service, means engaging all our senses in the service of the Lord, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the master of all the senses. When the spirit soul renders service unto the Supreme, there are two side effects. One is freed from all material designations, and, simply by being employed in the service of the Lord, one's senses are purified.

 

巴克提,或奉爱服务,是指让所有感官服务于感官之主,至尊人格首神。灵魂服务于至尊者会有两个副作用。一是脱离所有物质认同;还有就是仅通过服务于主,感官便得到净化。

Because Kåñëa's form, qualities, pastimes, etc. are all on the absolute platform, material senses cannot therefore appreciate them. When a conditioned soul is awakened to Kåñëa consciousness and renders service by using his tongue to chant the Lord's Holy name and taste the remnants of the Lord's food, the tongue is purified and one gradually comes to understand who Kåñëa really is.

The Personality of Godhead is perfect and complete, and because He is completely perfect, all emanations from Him, such as this phenomenal world, are perfectly equipped as complete wholes. Whatever is produced of the complete whole is also complete in itself. Because He is the complete whole, even though so many complete units emanate from Him, He remains the complete balance.

 

人格首神既完美又完全。因为他既完美又完全,一切流衍自他的都是完美的整体,圆满地具备应有的一切,就如这个现象世界。任何产生自完整的整体,本身也完整,因为他是完整的整体,所以纵有这样多完整的单元自他流衍,他依然既完整又均衡。

Everything animate or inanimate that is within the universe is controlled and owned by the Lord. One should therefore accept only those things necessary for himself, which are set aside as his quota, and one should not accept other things, knowing well to whom they belong.

 

宇宙之内,一切有生气的及没有生气的,都由主控制,由主拥有。因此,人只应该接受他需要的那一份,接受分配给他的那一份,再不应该接受其它东西,要知道一切是属至尊主的。
