The average annual online consumptionof Chinese males per capita has reached RMB10,025, surpassing thatof the females, according to a joint report issued by BostonConsultant Group (BCG) and AliResearch, an e-commerce researchinstitute under Alibaba.

据波士顿咨询公司和阿里研究院联合发布的一份报告显示,中国男性年均网购金额已经超过了女性,达到了10025元。

The report found that 73% of maleconsumers in first-tier cities believe that appearance is importantin job hunting and dating, and 88% of them learn about beautyproducts and fashion on the Internet. In addition, 83% of the malesaged 18 to 35 years old in first-tier cities consider it necessaryto use skincare products.

该报告发现,一线城市73%的男性消费者认为外表在求职和恋爱中很重要,88%的人会在网络上了解美容产品和时尚。此外,一线城市83%的男性(18-35周岁)认为有必要使用护肤产品。

With a single population approaching200 million, customized products and services for singles in Chinais a major opportunity for merchants involved with mini karaoke,single-seat restaurants, small refrigerators, and even smallapartments. The report said that China’s consumer market will hit$6.1 trillion in 2021, and market segmentation will continue toincrease.

随着中国单身人口逼近2亿大关,为单身人群量身定制的产品和服务就是商家们的巨大商机所在,包括迷你卡拉OK、单座餐厅、小冰箱、甚至小型公寓等等。该报告表示,到2021年中国的消费市场规模将达到6.1万亿美元,市场细分将继续增加。

BCG and AliResearch pointed out inthe report that China’s consumer economy is expanding at an annualrate of 10%, though the GDP growth has slowed. The reportcontributed the growing market to favorable macroeconomicconditions.

波士顿咨询公司和阿里研究院在报告中指出,尽管中国GDP增速放缓,但是中国的消费经济将以每年10%的速度增长。该报告认为市场的增长得益于有利的宏观经济条件。

By 2021, China will add $1.8 trillionin new consumption. That is roughly the size of Germany’s consumermarket today, and more than one-fourth of all consumption growth inmajor economies.

2021年时,中国将增加1.8万亿美元的新消费。这一数额几乎跟目前德国的消费市场差不多大,比所有主要经济体消费增长的四分之一还要多。

“Because of these factors, Chineseconsumers in the aggregate are spending more, and they’re tradingup to higher-quality products,” says Jeff Walters, a partner at BCGand coauthor of the report.

波士顿咨询公司合作伙伴、该报告作者杰夫·沃尔特斯表示:“由于这些因素,中国消费者目前总体上消费正在增加,他们也买到了质量更高的产品。”

“Digital technology is one of theunderlying drivers that will continue to spur purchases. TheChinese population is more connected than people in othercountries, and by 2021, 90% of all purchases in China will involvedigital at some point in the process of browsing, comparing prices,or making the actual purchase,” Walters added.

沃尔特斯还说道:“数字技术是刺激消费的潜在驱动力之一。相比于其他国家来说,中国人的联系更紧密一些,到2021年时中国90%的消费会在浏览、比价、或实际购买的过程中涉及到数字技术。”
