Since 1983, Joe Leonard has been a full-time business faculty
member at Miami University in Ohio. His primary
teaching has been undergraduate and MBA-level Strategic Management
and International Business courses. He has led
workshops for business students in the Pacific Rim (China, Korea,
Japan, and Hawaii) and in Western Europe (Luxembourg and
Switzerland). Professor Leonard has also taught
part-time at Hakuoh University in Japan, University of Arkansas,
Pittsburg State University, and University of
Maryland. His main research interest includes
strategic management and control, business in Japan, CEOs and
boards of directors, international business, business decision
making in China, company-based case studies. He
has consulted with small and large companies and worked full-time
for six years at a Fortune 500 company in a marketing
position. Additionally, he currently serves as
the chairman of the board of directors of Miami Nation-Enterprises
and serves the Ohio Historical Society as a member of the board of
trustees. Professor Leonard has authored or co-authored numerous
books, scholarly journal articles, book chapters, and conference
proceedings.
