Abstract: Tao Yuanming's acceptance of the thinking heritage from the previous thinkers was rather mixed, but the influence of Confucianism is dominant. His social ideal has a strong retro color. His philosophy of life is based on the traditional theory of Heavenly destiny. He not only paid attention to the realistic material life, but also stressed the strengthening of moral cultivation, his moral practice formed a noble personality model. He is full of creative spirit in literary art and has made great achievements in literature.

The Geographical Distribution and Literature Contribution

of the Ming Dynasty Literary Families in Jiangnan Area

Abstract: In the Ming dynasty, the literary families in Jiangnan region were mainly distributed in the vicinity of the core of Taihu Lake area. This distribution is the result of economic, cultural development and other factors. The surging talents who distinguished themselves from the imperial examinations, a large number of book collectors, together with swarming literary clubs and groups, composed a strong cultural atmosphere in this area. These literary families in Ming dynasty made great contributions to the over-all development of literature in Ming dynasty in various aspects, namely, the cultivation of literary talents, the development of regional literature in Jiangnan area, the establishment of literary theories, the collection and publication of literary works.

Decadency: The Other Side of the Reform Pioneer Wang Tao

Abstract: Wang Tao, a pioneer of reform, scholar and literati, had another side of decadence. His decadence is closely related to five factors: the decline of his family, the loss of official career, the reclusive consciousness, the pursuit of female beauty, and the erotic discussion. Through a systematic study of these five aspects of Wang Tao's decadence, we try to explore the historical significance on the basis of "understanding and sympathy".

沈撰程笺《岁暮怀人并序》组诗考论 (黄阿莎)

A Group of Nostalgic Poems Written by Shen Zufen with Cheng Qianfan’s Annotations

Abstract: The Memories of Friends at the End of the Year with a Preface is a group of poems in Shen Zufen’s collection of poems. It has the longest length, profound connotation and unique significance. However, it has received less attention from the academic community. This group of poems recorded Shen Zufen’s relationship with nearly 40 teachers and friends during her life time, reflecting the author’s reminiscence in her later years. This group of poems also reflects the author’s artistic style which is unconstraint, elegant and gloomy, as well as her poetic ideas. Her husband Cheng Qianfan’s annotation provides an easy clue for us to understand this group of poems, and highlights the idea of "poem can preserve history” which is shared by this couple.

Abstract: Fei Ming’s understanding of Buddhism has gone through a process from shallow to deep. The influence of Buddhism on his early literary creation was more aesthetic than ideological. Fei Ming’s aesthetic pursuit can be divided into two stages in chronological order: “collective unconsciousness” and “active exploration”. And it is mainly manifested in two aspects in his writings: calm and mindful meditation and creating artistic conception with Zen.

The Legend of Translation: The Trip of Western Female Novelists to China

in Late Qing dynasty and Early Republic Period

Abstract: Since the late Qing dynasty, Western female novelists have been introduced into China. In terms of form, the number of biographies translated and introduced is from small to large, the length is from short to long, and the type is becoming more and more diverse. In terms of content, the biographer turns from paying attention to the role of novels in changing social fashion and people's mind to praising the superb artistic level, and finally puts the female authors into the independent position of "novelists" to observe. In terms of style, the translation of Western female novelists' biographies has developed from the style of "heroic translation" to a faithful "biographical style". In modern China, these foreign women introduced by "translation", with the power of "presence", witnessed the Chinese women from the constant struggle with "others", and finally explained and produced a new self, thus have evolved a "translation legend".

Abstract: China Youth is the most combatant and vigorous youth magazine in the history of the Communist movement in China, and it is also the longest red media sponsored by the central director of the Communist Youth League. Taking the most representative column of China Youth, i.e., Cun Tie as an example, this paper focuses on the symbiotic relationship between literary periodicals and special times, and discusses how literary orientation coexists with the trend of the times and the tide of revolution in a periodical, thus reflecting on the brewing of revolutionary literature, and exploring the historical logic and ideological roots of the emergence and evolution of revolutionary literature.

The Thinking of Secret: On Mysticism and Postmodernism in The New Life

Abstract: Since Orhan Pamuk was influenced by Ibn Arabi, there is a special mindset named “the thinking of secret” in his novels, i.e., everything is connected in the universe, so you could affirm and negate anyone and anything at the same time, these two ways of thinking will be united in the final truth or God, which is essentially a mystery. The first thinking’s nature is rationality and its fruits “the empirical knowledge”, while the second is deconstructivism. Focus on the interpretation of The New Life, this article analyzes many problems, including the essence, characteristics and values of the thinking of secret, why Pamuk was interested in it, what’s the real relationship of the thinking of secret with Pamuk’s “compassion” poetics.

Marshall Berman’s Interpretation of the Modernity of Russian literature

Abstract: Marshall Berman interpreted the modernity of Russian literature with his own theory about the experience of modernity and the perspective of spatial criticism. He pointed out that the evolution of “little men” of Russian literature embodied the development of Russian modern thoughts. The duality of the coexisting real and insubstantial nature, the self-ironic forms of e x pression and the unique passion of Russian literature were argued as the essential elements which constituted the basic characteristics of its modernity, as well as making Russian modernism the archetypal example for the Third World. Berman's interpretation integrates unique theory and textual study, and his opinions are very inspiring.

 Translation, Reinvention and Spreading of the Concept of Humanism in China during May Fourth Era: A Case Study of the Discourse of Humanism of the School of New Culture

Abstract: Humanism is an important concept throughout Western intellectual history. It is the key concept that has promoted the intellectual, cultural and literary transformations of modern China after it was imported into China. The present paper examines the translation, reinvention and spreading of the concept of humanism in China during the May Fourth era. By historicizing the process of translating “humanism”, this paper explores the production and construction of the seemingly undisputable equivalence between “humanism” and its Chinese term “Rendao Zhuyi”. It further clarifies the transmutation and evolution of meanings and implications of humanistic discourse during the May Fourth era, investigates the dynamic generation and morphological change of the May 4th humanitarian discourse, and the reasons behind it. Finally, it explores the resonance and echo of humanitarian discourse in the field of May 4th literature. The trend of humanitarian literature stimulates the "modern transformation" of new literature. Starting from the translation of the humanitarian concept, this paper explores the humanitarian elements in the May 4th new literature, which provides a possibility to re-examine the connection between language, culture and history, and also helps to reflect on the promiscuity and intertextuality of the May 4th humanitarian literary discourse.

Aesthetic Modernity: Baudelaire’s Poetic Nature

Abstract: French litterateur Baudelaire inherited the classical theory of imitation and the ecological theory of romanticism and started the age of symbolism. Keeping in touch with spleen and positioning the consciousness of modernity on the instantaneous feelings about the current city life experience, he has created a poetic nature that is more real than the reality, and constructed a set of aesthetic experience paradigm of “poem-nature-city” for the modern city by a unique writing method of “turning ugliness to beauty”, thus formed an urban ecological aesthetic theory that is based on harmony between the human beings and nature, a poetic view of nature characterized by the modernity of beauty beyond the traditional nature: i.e., urban experience transiting to poetic experience.

The Meaning of Philosophy of Existence in Oscar Wilde’s Practice of Aestheticism

Abstract: Oscar Wilde’s aestheticism contains profound philosophical implications. As a contemporary of Nietzsche, Wilde was an advocate of new-hedonism, individualism and non-moralization, in resonance obviously with the humanistic values of non-rationalism, non-collectivism and non-moralization of the 19th century. Throughout his life of fame and infamy, there was the spirit, aesthetic and transcendental, of reflection and individualism. His expounding of his own view of death makes clear the aesthetic life-will in the tension between life and death, thus corresponding to the being-towards-death prospect, depicted in the later philosophy of existentialism, and inspiring the 20th century philosophers of neo-Nietzscheism to pursue a life philosophy of self-transcendence and pleasure creation.

The Genealogies of the Theories of Apparatus

Foucault, Agamben, Heidegger on Apparatus

Abstract: The category of apparatus has an important position in the contemporary intellectual history. By examining Foucault, Agamben and Heidegger's text, we can obtain the triple meanings of apparatus. Foucault retreats it as strategies and methods to analyze the problem, through which Foucault intervenes to the microcosmic analysis of the political power, in order to go beyond the limitations of his early discourse analysis. Agamben has developed his own political theology genealogies of apparatus, traced apparatus back to its semantics of religion in its original structure, in order to analyze the religious kernel of contemporary capitalist production relations, and he eventually appeals us to criticize it by means of profanation. Heidegger's analysis of Gestell is an important part of his criticism of modern technology. Gestell, in his opinion, embodies the essence of modern technology. As a mode of revealing which may deconstruct metaphysics, Gestell has its positive significance. However, the revealing of modern technology is aimed at exploiting nature to store energy through the way of challenging, it has brought the world into a new crisis.

The Analysis of Some Phenomena of Northwest Dialect in Late Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties via Wu Zixu Bianwen

Abstract: Dunhuang Bianwen has provided a lot of historical materials in literature, linguistics, history, ancient culture and so on since it was discovered, and plays an important role in later research. Wu Zixu Bianwen has a representative significance among the texts of Dunhuang Bianwen. From the perspective of today’s social linguistics, the analysis of Wu Zixu Bianwen can provide some typical linguistic phenomena and some characteristics of northwest dialect in Late Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties period. It has a positive effect on the study of the current domestic dialects.

in the Comparative Sentences

Abstract: Ru()/Si()had become a preposition in the comparative sentences since Tang Dynasty. The Special syntactic positions was the most important motivation in the grammaticalization course of Ru/Si. The semantic interconnectedness also played a role in the process of grammaticalization. The syntactic format became the mainstream comparative sentences in Yuan and Ming Dynasties. After the Qing Dynasty, the syntactic format gradually declined and solidified into a special sentence under the influence of the great trend of comparative sentences with the preposition Yu()the uncertainty of the meaning and the new comparative sentences with the preposition Bi() in the Tang Dynasty.

An Empirical Study on the Influence of Transparency and Context on the Understanding of Idioms by Intermediate Level Foreign Students

Abstract: By means of tests and the stepwise multiple linear regression method, this study investigated the effects of transparency and contexts on the understanding of Chinese idioms by the foreign students with Intermediate l Chinese character background. The research indicates that: the effect of semantic transparency of Chinese idioms is not remarkable on the understanding of idioms, but the context has a significant influence on it. The effect of semantic transparency is not regulated by the context, but by the context. The context plays a predictive role in the achievement of idiom comprehension of Intermediate level foreign students. Based on this, the authors put forward some suggestions on the compilation of Chinese textbooks and the teaching of Chinese idioms.

The Localized E x pression of the New Generation of Directors in Hong Kong

Abstract: Since 2013, a new generation of directors have emerged in Hong Kong and most of them produce films in a low-budget way. They use traditional Hong Kong film genres for reference to “ruminate” genres, reflect the reality through the micronarrative in the view of "experience", and repeatedly use the illness metaphor as the original narrative element to present the fate of the leading roles. The new generation of directors in Hong Kong have realized the localized e x pression in their own unique ways.

Abstract: In the process of its development, Taiwanese films have always been critical of the writing of cities, shaping them into places of evil and cold blood indifference. Taking a dialectical view on different stages of development of Taiwanese film, this paper argues that this creation tendency and critical attitude of Taiwanese films actually reflect the intellectuals' deep reflection on modernity. It reflects not only the pursuit of human's own spiritual home, but also the profound reflection of the ills of modernity and the structural oppression enforced by consumer culture on the subjects.

Abstract: Sil-Metropole Organization is a Hong Kong film company with a special nature and a long history. Since the reform and opening up, it has effectively integrated the left progressive film force in Hong Kong. In the process of the booming co-production between Hong Kong and the mainland, the original natural landscape and the exclusive advantage of co-production leading the way are gradually weakened. Since the implementation of CEPA, in the throes of transition, Sil-Metropole Organization has been transformed into "the key promoter and gatekeeper of co-production between the two places", which has found a new development path for industry guidance, high-quality creation and cultural integration under the new circumstances.

Abstract: From The Shuihudi Bamboo Slips of Qin, we can see that the official document processing system has begun to take shape. In the context of the Qin Dynasty's efforts to build the clerical administrative system, the official document writing and processing system affected the actual administrative operation and efficiency of the Qin dynasty, no matter from the perspective of management subject, management level, management mechanism or management mode. The appearance of this official document writing and processing system not only reflects the awakening of the consciousness of official documents, the exploration of official documents procedures, but also reflects the legalization orientation of official documents by the Qin government. All these contribute to the significant improvement of the administrative efficiency of the Qin Dynasty and have profound value.

Research on the Ming Dynasty’s Revised Editions of Yuan Dynasty’s Ten-line Version of Shisanjing Zhushu----Focusing on Lunyu Zhushu Jiejing

Abstract: The Yuan Dynasty’s ten-line version of Shisanjing Zhushu has been modified at least five times in the Ming Dynasty, including the patch versions appeared in the years of 1511, 1517, 1521, 1524,  and the Jiajing re-collation version. The Jiajing re-collation version has made the max-scale mending, it has not only replaced a large number of damaged printing plates, but also collated and modified the former plates, and the format had also been updated and unified. The time of Jiajing re-collation was between the 1524 version and Li Yuanyang’s block-printed edition, the latter was based on the Jiajing re-collation version. Ruan Yuan’s Lunyu Zhushu Jiaokanji and Shisanjing Zhushu Lunyu Zhushu Jiejing were based on the Ming Dynasty’s modified edition of the Yuan dynasty’s ten-lines Lunyu Zhushu Jiejing, which is now stored in Taiwan’s “national library”. The errors of Ruan Yuan’s work were related to this edition.

Proof Reading and Discussion on the Punctuation in the Collated Version of Songshi Jishi

Abstract: Songshi Jishi is a far-reaching literature of Song poetics. In 1983, Shanghai Classics Publishing House published the collated edition of this book, which had a good influence in the academic circle. However, there are some mistakes in the punctuation of this edition. This paper summarizes and corrects the punctuation errors in the book from eight aspects, including the family lineage, the laws and regulations, the official system, the book title, the scope of quotations, the language habits, the errors of the original text, and variety of other factors, in order to facilitate the further collation and research of the book.
