Technical University of Berlin(abbr. TUB), is a research university located in Berlin, Germany. It was founded in 1879 named as Koenigliche Technische Hochschulezu Berlin in the past, and then became the first established institute of technology in Germany and one of the most prestigious education institutions in Europe. The college was reopened on 9th April 1946 after Second World War, renamed as "Technische Universität Berlin" since then.

Currently, the TUB has more than 100 major and 27,000 students.

According to the agreement between the institution of architecture of TUB and our college, an exchanging project has been launched from 2016. The first group students have finished their term between 15th October 2016 to 15th January 2017, and the second group of 17 students had been selected, which will visit and study at TUB between 15th March and 15th June 2017.

 

Schedule

Each exchanging project has 12 weeks. Spring semester is from March 15th to June 15th. Autumn semester is from October 15th to January 15th the next year. The Project contains 11 week seminar at TUB and 1 week visiting trip in Germany and other European countries.

 

Major, Courses and Credits

The project is available for all undergraduate and graduate students in our college. The content of courses can be arranged well in order to meet the different needs for different students. For example, we can arrange tutors for graduate students and internship for undergraduate senior students, or give guidance for undergraduate students’ final graduation design.

 

All courses are taught in English, which can be divided into 4 courses, including 1design studio and theoretical lessons (totally 12 credits). The transcript and the credits of the exchanging project are strongly helpful for applying master degree in TUB. Besides, it can also be admitted by all EU universities.

Based on the relevant regulations of exchanging project, the credits that students gained from TUB equals twice for undergraduate students (24 credits), for graduate students it can instead of the major courses credits.(12 credits)Graduation design in TUB will also be admitted in NCUT if all essential material is provided.

Students who have joined the previous project will take advanced courses in their second exchanging term.

The design studio is guided by Professor Raoul Bunschoten from Institut für Architektur, TUB, and the theoretical lessons will be held in TUB or Universität der Künste Berlin (UDK), based on students’ major. Seminars, internship, cultural communication and tutorial will also be offered.

The co-operation agencies of the exchanging project are Bund Deutscher Architekten, Freie Universität Berlin, UDK, Deutsche Energie-Agentur and Zentrum für Sprache und Kommunikation.

 

Project Fees

Tuition Fees: €4900 per student. ( including all the fees for the courses in TUB)

Accommodation Fees: €380 per month, totally €1140. The students’ accommodation will be arranged by TUB.

Students should pay their own fees of visiting trip outside Berlin (approx. €500) as well as airplane tickets(6000RMB), visa application fee, materials preparation fee and medical insurance fee, etc.

 

Enrollment students

Undergraduate: architecture, design, urban planning, landscape architecture

Graduate: architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture, environmental design, visual communication, animation

The enrollment number of each project will be 15 to 20 for one semester. If the number of candidate is over the limit, a selection will be in progress, based on students’ major, grade, GPA and English level. The final decision will be made by TUB.

Students now can apply for the project of 2017 autumn term, up to 2019 spring term. To reserve a position, please apply as early as you can - early come will give you better chance to serve in principle.

Application Deadline

 

2017 Autumn Term – 15th March, 2017

2018 Spring Term – 15th June, 2017

2018 Autumn Term – 15th March, 2018

2019 Spring Term – 15th June, 2018

 

Please be noted: all the project can be applied separately or continually. Clarification in the application form is needed.

Students who apply for more than one project will take advanced courses in the second term.

 

Selection Progress

The selection progress of autumn project will end at March, with a professional training between May and June. During that time, visa application material and enrollment will be finished. All eligible students will come to TUB on October 15th in same year.

Announcements

All students should have valid passport to join the project. If you do not have one, please prepare for it immediately.

For those students whose registered residences are outside Beijing, please make sure which German embassy or consulate should you come to apply for a visa. German embassy or consulate in China is located in Beijing, Shenyang, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu.

Relative documents should be prepared in advance, including the certificate of birth and household register. For students’ parents, both of them should provide the proof from their work places (or retirement), the latest bank statement for 3 months (no need for mortgage). The students’ parents should make sure that his and her bank statement balance is no less than 30,000 RMB.
