国内小排量豪华俱乐部阵容不断壮大

   排量无可战胜,除非是更大的排量。或许绝大多数中国人都没有听说过这句西方汽车界古老的说法,但大家往往认同这样的观点。豪华车就应该有大批量,小排量则只是为廉价车准备的。

   不过,世界正在改变。排量将可以取代。越来越多的小排量增压发动机成功进入了中国市场,不仅配备经济型轿车,也装备豪华轿车。

   将在下周广州车展上发布的上海通用凯迪拉克SLS 2.0T SIDI将成为这一小排量进程中的一座里程碑。一方面,它所配备的262马力,360牛米的发动机是同级别中最为强劲的,远远领先于奥迪A6L 2.0T的170马力、大众CC 2.0T的200马力、奔驰E260CGI的204马力,甚至还胜于自家小弟别克君威2.0T的220马力。更重要的是,自从15年前Fleetwood大量进口中国以后,凯迪拉克在国内一直都是大排量的代名词,而SLS 2.0T SIDI的引入必将颠覆人们这种传统的认识,并宣告小排量化正在成为豪华车领域的普遍趋势。不过,“T SIDI”如此之长的发动机技术名称可能会在推广的过程中遇到难题。

   轿车用涡轮增压汽油机最早由大众汽车引入中国。10年前,5气门的1.8T发动机开始陆续装备A6、帕萨特和宝来。这台非直喷发动机可以爆发出V6发动机一样的动力,但不能像直喷发动机一样获得良好的经济性。2007年,一汽大众迈腾搭载1.8TSI发动机进入市场,但由于一汽大众前期推广不力,不少人都无法理解为什么1.8TSI发动机要比排量更大的2.0发动机更加昂贵。随着时间的推移,大众汽车的TSI产品线不断扩大,营销推广也日见成效。此外,通用、福特、奔驰也先后将Turbo DI、Ecoboost和CGI发动机增压直喷技术引进中国,小排量增压直喷发动机越来越被大家所认可。如今,TSI一类的技术正在成为高科技、低碳、低税的代表,而不再被误解为古怪的文字游戏。

   不过有趣的是,奔驰E200CGI和E260CGI通过迷惑性的代码来极力掩饰1.8升的真实排量,大众也开始用不同颜色组合的“TSI”字样隐晦地表达实际排量。或许虽然许多车主自身已经可以接受小排量发动机,但碍于面子,他们并不希望其他人知道。

Chinese Small-displacement Luxury Club Growing Rapidly

Nothing beats displacement except even more displacement. Although most Chinese people never heard this English saying, they always agree with this view. Luxury cars should have a large displacement, while small-displacement engines are just for cheap cars.

However, the world is changing. Displacement needs replacement. More and more small-displacement turbocharged engines were introduced into Chinese market successfully, not only for compact cars, but also for the luxury.
The Shanghai GM Cadillac SLS 2.0T SIDI, will be unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show next week and will be a milestone of this progress. This is because the engine with 262hp and 360Nm is the most powerful in its segment, its much stronger than Audi’s A6L 2.0T’s 170hp, VW CC 2.0TSI’s 200hp, Mercedes E260CGI’s 204hp and even little brother Buick Regal 2.0T’s 220hp. Moreover, Cadillac was synonymous with large displacement, because of the imported Fleetwood 15 years ago, which was regarded as the most luxurious car by Chinese people at that time. So the introduction of the SLS 2.0T SIDI will subvert our traditional concept, implying the small displacement is becoming a general trend for luxury cars. However, such a long name ‘T SIDI’ may be not easy for promotion in China.

Turbocharged gasoline engine was introduced to China by Volkswagen. 10 years ago, a 5-valve 1.8T engine was mounted on Audi A6 (C5), Passat (B5) and Bora (A4). This engine without FSI gained more power like a V6, but didn’t cut much fuel consumption like a TSI. In 2007, the Magotan (Passat B6) hit the market with a 1.8TSI engine, but FAW-VW’s promotion was unsuccessful at first. People didn`t understand why the 1.8TSI with less displacement was more expensive than a 2.0L. As time went by, VW’s TSI lineup enlarged with better promotion, while GM, Ford and Mercedes introduced Turbo DI, Ecoboost and CGI engines for China. Small-displacement turbocharged direct-injection engine has been recognized more and more. Nowadays, TSI or something like it means technology, low-tax and low-carbon, rather than strangeness and cheating.

Interestingly, Mercedes E200CGI and E260CGI (share one 1.8L engine) try their best to cover up the reality of displacement with a misleading number, while VW began to use marks ‘TSI’ in different colors to distinguish different displacements. (Such tactics are used worldwide.) Perhaps more car owners can accept a small displacement, but they don’t want others know for the sake of their pride.
