A warlike, tragical age is the best to write of, but worst to write in.的出自Abraham Cowley (1618 – July 28, 1667)和原文“A warlike, various, and a tragical age is best to write of, but worst to write in. ”

Abraham Cowley
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abraham_Cowley

我想到When one writes of national calamities, one inevitably writes well,从这次大地震后大量出现的文学作品中可见一斑,更何况是改朝换代的“calamities”.
