 How to Build a Website That Sells?

你可曾有过这种经历?你坐在汽车里朝着拟订目的地出发,没有带地图:天真地以为一定会找到目的地。在受尽挫折的几个小时之后,你要么迷了路,要么灰心丧气。

Have you ever set off in the car to your destination, without a map, naively believing you will find it? Several frustrating hours later, you are either lost or stressed out.

STAGE ONE: Define Your Purpose

你的网站如果没有清楚的宗旨,你就不知道前进的方向。现在,将网站的宗旨用文字叙述出来仔细审查几遍,一定要保证这个目标是清楚明白的。

Without a clear purpose for your site, you will not know where you are heading. Now, write down the statement of purpose for your web site. Go over it a few times to make sure it is crystal clear.

第二步:研究你的目标市场

STAGE TWO: Research Your Target Market

研究你想要销售的产品或服务。明确是否存在一个良好的细分市场,或者这个市场的需求非常旺盛。把注意力集中在你所可能提供的一些有特色的商品上,这些能够使你胜人一筹。

Research the product or service you wish to sell. Find out if it has a good niche, or it has a strong demand. Focus on something unique you may have to offer, that stands out from your competitors.

第三步:选择域名

STAGE THREE: Choose a Domain Name

为你的生意寻找一个可用的域名。域名越简单越好,这样便于记忆,要避免难拼写的单词。

Look up an available domain name for your business. Keep your domain name as short as possible, so it is easy to remember. Avoid hard to spell words.

第四步:构思

STAGE FOUR: Mindmapping-Sketch Your Site

这是勾画网站草图的过程。拿出一张纸,在中间画一个圆圈——这就是你主页的主题。从那里开始,画出一些分支,这些分支是有关主题的多个子题。如果有一些子题可以进行更明细的分解,就要在这个子题的分支上再画出另一个分支。在几分钟之内,你就会看到你的构思已经变成一幅生动的草图。

This is the process that sketch out your site. Take one sheet of paper,draw a circle in the middle—this is the subject of your homepage. Form there, draw branches, which have more ideas about your topic. If any topics are related in a more definitive way, create-another branch off the current idea branch. With in minutes, you will see your mindmap develop into a dynamic sketch.

第五步:撰写销售文稿

STAGE FIVE: Write Your Copy to Sell

每个网页都要在标题处强调优点,以将读者吸引到网页的内容上。要回答这个问题:这个网页中有我需要的内容吗?我为什么要花费宝贵的时间来阅读这个网页呢?

Each page should emphasize the benefits in the headline, to pull the reader into the contents of your page. It should answer this question:What’s in it for me? Why should I spend my precious time reading this pges?”
