我记得一天我在家里的沙发上织毛衣。我女儿问题“妈妈。你开心吗？”我感到很奇怪，然后脱口而出“是的，我很开心，你呢宝贝？”她说“不，一点也不开心，我每天都要去学校，每天都要做回家作业。”
现在的孩子功课确实很重。我们成人一周工作40小时，但是孩子们比我们累多了，他们所有的时间都要花在学习上。我的女儿在上小学二年级。她早上6点起床赶校车，早上第一节课是7：20开始，一直上到下午4：30.然后她有一个小时的思考时间，晚饭后，在6：30开始做作业。有时候一直到9点10点还没有结束。在周末，周五晚上她有英语课，周六早上有小提琴课。中午上国际象棋，周日早上上绘画课。
她很小但是肯定能保证八小时的睡眠。我把所有好吃的都塞给她吃。但我还是很担心她的身体。我也很担心她的视力。她只有小学二年纪，不过她的许多同班同学已经是近视眼了。
不是应为我们要求高，而是应为别的孩子都在这么做。我们不能让孩子一开始就落在别人后面。

I feed her as well as I can, but Ií»m worried she woní»t grow. And Ií»m worried about her eyesight: Sheí»s only in the second year, but already lots of her classmates are short-sighted.

Your kidí»s primary school foundation has to be excellent. Sometimes you can try to change your ethnic background and claim to be a minority because that can add 10 points to a university entrance exam score. I just wish sometimes that I could give my daughter a day off. I wish I could take her into the countryside, let her have a look at nature, relax. But I always smother that wish. Kids today caní»t afford to relax. Their grades will determine their job, their house and their car.
