Kata raises a Dream Bag Challenge. I
contributed my own design, named Flier XP. See it

I have 6 various photo bags in my
hand right now, dumped other 4 or 5 before. None of them is perfect
for me. I’ve dreamed to have a self-designed photo bag to meet my
request.
My idea is to design the most compact bag to carry enough equipments
for most occasions, release photographers from heavy burden, keep
equipments safe
I asked myself what equipment I
carry for outdoor usage most frequently

So my dream bag should have
capacity of 1 body and 3 f/2.8 zoom lens, a flashgun, necessary
accessories such as storage cards, card reader, spare battery,
lenspen (for clean usage) and some private stuffs, like wallet,
passport, keys, iphone, sunglasses, etc.

I tried arranging all those things
in a minimum cuboid room. I am to keep 70-200/2.8 lying down in the
bilged compartment, and fetch it out from a side hatch. Other
stuffs squeeze in the upper compartment. The exterior size is 30cm
x 33cm x15cm (11.8” x 13” x 6”), definitely the most compact photo
bag for the 3 f/2.8 zoom lenses.
The extended front cover protects
the bag from rain and thievery. Though I love separate weather
proof cover, but it is

The convertible design comes from
my childhood when I double looped

My personal favorite innovation is
two clips on the backpack belts. I call it Camera on Backpack
Clips. They will bite the camera belt tightly so that the camera is
hanging on the backpack, and our neck is release from those fat
f/2.8 zoom lenses. Furthermore, they

Other features include using
reflective stripe to protect photographers safe in dark night and
poor weather; trolley loop to tie the bag on
Some friends gave me a perfect
idea. To make the innner side of the front cover color of 18%
grey,
Since the bag has the capacity of the 3 giant f/2.8 lenses,
carrying any lens
The bag is pretty small. Though I
have more equipment, I don’t wanna put everything in the bag. For
me, the bag is for one day outdoor carrying, not for storage. For a
long journey, and if more equipment needed, I will use the bag as a
quick-fetch shoulder bag and carry another huge backpack as
well.

I name the bag Flier XP, for it is
so compact and convenient that could be take in to any jet cockpit!
It could easily travel around the world. Compact means
inconspicuous, photographer could take Flier XP to anywhere, and
work at ease.(FIN)
