The first period
Tasks
Talking about school uniforms and what must be worn in different seasons;
Language focus:
Using nouns/noun phrases to identify objects
e.g. sleeves, shorts, a red scarf
Using modal verbs to express obligation
e.g. All of us must wear green scarves
Using connectives to link similar ideas
e.g. Girls must wear white dresses with the short sleeves, blue belts, white socks and black shoes

Teaching procedure
1.Learn the new vocabulary .
Ask: What are your school uniforms in summer/winter? Write two lists on the board and ask the students to suggest items of clothing.
2.Ss read the notice on P 40. Play the tape for them to listen and repeat.
3.Ask some questions : e.g. When must Ss wear summer/winter uniforms?
What are you wearing now?
4.Ask the Ss to read the notice on P41 and write the missing words .
5.Select individual Ss to read out a paragraph each..
