    为什么摩天轮要用Third Wheel呢？

查了一下字典是 Ferris Wheel和Observation Wheel呀？third wheel 不是那种碍手碍脚电灯泡的人吗？没有哪个自行车需要第三个轮子~（a two-wheeled bicycle adding a third wheel would not be helpful and would limit mobility）呵呵一直听到今天的节目才知道原来是3个主持，3个轮子，或者~就是个电灯泡？！

 

 

 

 

不过还是非常喜欢这个名字~

传说如果恋人在摩天轮升到最高处时亲吻，他们就能一直在一起~

传说摩天轮的每个盒子里都装满了幸福，当我们仰望摩天轮的时候，就是在仰望幸福~

Pun双关

1. He is not a grave man until he is a grave man.
其中的grave有两个含义，一个是“严肃的”（形容词），一个是“坟墓”（名词），因此这句话的意思是：他一辈子也严肃不起来；除非他躺进坟墓中，否则他是严肃不起来的。

 

2. They pray for you today and prey on you tomorrow.
其中的pray（祈祷）和prey（捕食），发音相同，外形相似，因此这句话的意思是：他们今天为你祈祷，明天就会加害于你。

 

3. He drove his expensive car into a tree and found out how the Mercedes bends.
他驾驶昂贵的汽车撞到树上，看到他的奔驰车（Mercedes）是怎样撞弯（bends）的。这句话的幽默之处是将Mercedes Benz（奔驰车）中的Benz，故意改写成bends。

 

4. Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana.
时光像箭一样飞逝，水果像香蕉一样飞逝。其实这句话后半部分的真正意思是：果蝇喜欢吃香蕉，也就是fruit flies/like/a banana。

这句话的表面意思是：自行车自己站不起来，因为它只有两个轮胎（two-tyred）。而这句话的另外一个意思是：这辆自行车被它的主人骑了很长时间，它现在太累了（too tired）。

表面意思是：她每天都戴着假发套，被人们称为“大假发套”。其实Big wig有大人物、大亨的意思。

 

7. Old math teachers never die, they just become irrational.
表面意思：老数学老师永远都不会死，只会变疯。其实irrational也是数学术语--无理数。

 

8. His left brain has nothing right and his right brain has nothing left.
他的左脑没有正确的东西，他的右脑没剩下什么东西。

   sentence既有“句子”的意思，也有“刑期”的含义。

  B: Selfish.自私。

8. A: Which is the longest word in English? 英语中最长的单词是哪一个？

   B: Smiles, because there is a “mile” between the first letter “s” and the last letter “s”.是smiles，因为从第一个字母s到最后一个字母s,中间相隔一英里（mile）。

作者把smiles( 微笑)拆分成s-mile-s，趣味由此则生。
