今天在暨南大学参加2010年度BEC最后一次考官集训时收到一学生发来短信。短信大意是：和老外一起看比赛，老外对表现差的选手说了声sugar。该生不懂了，问俺啥意思。因在培训，我也没太专注，随手回复确认该词有没写错？因为大家都知道sugar嘛，怎么会跟打击联系在一起呢？我也纳闷ing。回家后我再次给学生回信，告诉她据我所知在这种情况下我们通常会说suck！（真臭，真烂！）。虽为老师，但我还真没听见、看见或用过sugar来骂人的。

    既然老外都用了，那sugar肯定可以用来骂人。直觉告诉我sugar骂人应属于slang（俚语），俚语掌握的多少有时真是衡量一个人口语地道与否的重要指标之一。但对于外国人而言，尽量少用。因为俚语属于圈内人的语言，既是圈内人，那基本和行话相差无几。所以，你有时说的很地道，可别人听不懂，这样交际就失败了，也会有些尴尬。有时需再paraphrase一番，费时。更有时会惹麻烦，毕竟语境不同了，文化等差异会招来不必须要的麻烦。这里不说英语的例子了，就举一个汉语的例子吧，比如你跟来自偏远山村的阿叔或父母聊天，偶尔用了“雷人”或“我是打酱油的”这样的词语，人家听不懂的，可能还会骂你怎么不好好说话。

    话又说回来，既然学人家的语言，好的礼貌的学了，粗话也不妨要会几句，不然显得你的语言太bookish，最主要的是恰当的时候可用之来解解急。谢谢学生问我，这就是我欣赏与学生互动的原因所在。我所教过的学生中，我记住姓名的不是考试好的，而是那些课堂参与或课后积极互动的学生。当然，在学习上能和老师互动的学生考试能差么？感谢学生跟我信息互动，互动让我们分享知识。如果没她的问题，我或许一辈子也不会知道sugar可以用来骂人。同时，至少她也收获了suck的另一地道用法。所以，互动对于我们是一个win-win。由衷的说一句“yes！two heads are better than one！”我回复的最后一短信是“学地道语言，老外才是最好的教材。”，与之共勉。

    其实，有时骂人真无需粗口，我整理了一些。有的是自己的习得，有些则来自网络。

1、粗口的诅咒

英文中有很多用于表达惊奇、意外或者愤怒的情绪的诅咒，比方大家很熟悉的“sh*t”啦“f*ck”啦，虽说没有实意，但粗口毕竟是粗口，不登大雅之堂，尤其是当着女士或孩子的面说更加不好。这时就需要用某种方式掩饰一下字面上的表达，用发音相近的词替换原来的粗俗之词。

2、提到上帝或神

英文里也有很多以上帝啊神的名义的起誓，比方久而久之也发展成了没有实意的纯粹的感叹语。但因为自己的情绪，有事没事就把神牵涉进来真是很不敬；况且《圣经》中明确指出不得“妄称神的名字”。这样也发展出了一系列与神、上帝有关的口语委婉表达。
