近年来，刘韡不断挑战经验极限和国际艺术语言边界的艺术自觉，在当代文化生成的中国现场，展现出在装置、观念艺术领域推进自身系统的强劲势头。他在艺术实验中刷新个人系统，从形式、方法的原创程度上质疑所有正确的已知事物，撼动所谓“当代性”作品和展览的形成方式及其背后的理论支撑。他不惧失败、勇于置绝地而后生，具有超越全球文化生产和消费的庸常链条的心理素质。在市场催生的种种艺术图示的条件下，走出艺术家的自我定势，为中国当代艺术的学术语境及其视觉图景的提示出某种典范。

In recent years, Liu Wei continues to challenge the limitation of experience and the board of international art language.  He represents the strong views of Chinese contemporary art in the installation and conceptual art world.  In his own art experiment he keeps refreshing the individuals system and doubt the things we already know from the perspective of forms and methodically and creative.  He has shaken our understanding of the comporarity and exhibitions.  Liu Wei is never afraid of future failure and is brave enough to be re born after death.  On this level, he can go beyond the links of global production and customers under the unreasonable boom of the present Chinese contemporary art scene.  Liu Wei’s work offers a certain model of how we can go beyond the so called Chinese contemporary art and its images.

Best Young Artist of Chinese Contemporary Art Awards 2008: Tseng Yu-Chin



曾御钦的艺术表现出一种 深入而脆弱的人道主义。他的焦虑在整个发展的当代艺术社会中扮演了一个独立的角色，特别是传统的集体和家庭结构的遗赠。同时，曾御钦的艺术充满了希望与救赎，在他的多媒体作品里，你可以深刻的感受到一种交织着同情，窥视，甚至于针对他作品的主题描述的危机的切入点的融合情素。
曾御钦是12界卡塞尔文献奖重要发现之一，他的艺术是对多媒体艺术的先锋张培力老师的致敬，但他同样也开创他自己的艺术形式。他的艺术已经从台湾剧院派形式中脱离出来。他犹如变化中的内陆现代主义和台湾的现代主义之间的一座桥梁。

The art of Tseng Yu-Chin is characterized by a deep and fragile humanism. His concern is the role of the individual in the context of a changing contemporary society, in particular, the demise of traditional community and family configurations. That offered, Tseng’s art is also filled with redemption and hope.  His films are in turns compassionate  and voyeuristic, even to the point of rendering to a crisis point the depiction of its subjects.
Tseng Yu-Chin was one of the key discoveries of Documenta 12.  His  art pays homage to the pioneering video art of Zheng Pei Li while developing from it an aesthetic voice all its own.  His art often assumes the form of video vignettes excised from a model of Taiwanese cinema.  He represents an important bridge between the changing modernity of the mainland and the changing modernity of Taiwan.

Lifetime Contribution Artist of Chinese Contemporary Art Awards 2008: Ai Weiwei


 
中国当代艺术2008杰出贡献奖-艾未未。也许没有一位艺术家能够象艾未未那样深刻而真实的反映出中国当代艺术快速而付有挑战性的发展状态。作为12界卡塞尔文献奖的基石，艾未未的艺术已经超出了中国当代艺术的范畴，而将中国复杂的社会和政治体系溶入到他多变的建筑和设计空间作品里面。最近几年里，他的多方面的艺术贡献使得他成为那些渴望了解研究中国当代艺术和文化的现状的学生们的主要研究参考对象。最后但不是最少，艾未未在获得如此高的国际威望，和在推动其本身的现代工程的同时，也提升了中国当艺术对自我的认定和理解。

The 2008 lifetime contribution award is given to Ai Weiwei.  Perhaps no artist has mirrored the volatile and challenging development of Chinese Contemporary art more deeply and accurately than Ai Weiwei.  A cornerstone of Documenta 12, Ai Weiwei’s work has transcended the category of contemporary art in China into the very heart of Chinese society, from China’s complex social and political dynamics to advances in its radically changing architectural and design spaces.  His multivalent contributions have over the years made Ai Weiwei a veritable reference point for any student who desires to gain an understanding of the present situation of Chinese contemporary art and culture.  Last but not least, Ai Weiwei s recognized and awarded for having achieved high international regards while advancing China’s self understanding at a salient juncture in its advancing modernizing project.
