Some interesting or excited things in the adults’ mind are serious bad in some children’s mind. But not all adults, especially not all parents, will be aware of this important problem.

某些大人们认为有趣或是令人兴奋的事，在一些孩子的眼里是非常坏的。

但不是所有大人，特别是父母，能够意识到这个重要的问题。

I recognized  this problem deeply through an event and it’s effect on my son. This story happened around three months ago at my wife’s hometown which is a village near Kunming. My father in law, who is a kindly farmer, would invite some of our relatives to have a dinner. It’s a Saturday when the dinner would be hold, and unfortunately, an unlucky goat would be slaughtered to cook for that dinner and those guests. I thought that my son had never seen people how to slaughter goat, so we, my wife and I, made a stupid decision that let my boy to see it. The purpose is to increase his knowledge. My wife, but not me took him to there on Friday to see what would be happened in the next early morning.

我深刻认识到这个问题是通过一件事以及这件事对儿子的影响。这个故事发生在大约三个月前，地点是在老婆的家乡，一个离昆明很近的村庄。我的岳父是个善良的农民，打算邀请亲戚们吃饭。那是一个周六的日子，一只不走运的山羊即将被宰杀变成人们的美味佳肴。我想，儿子从来没有见过宰羊。于是我和老婆做出了一个愚蠢的决定，让儿子去见识见识那种场面，美其名曰是增长孩子的见识。老婆带着儿子在周五赶回家，以便赶上第二天清晨的场面。

After they came back, the news my wife told me about my son shocked me. My son, the little boy, cried and shouted while seeing people tried to kill that goat. He struggled to stop them, but finally escaped far away with crying when he saw the blood flowing from that goat’s neck.

他们回来后，老婆告诉了我一件关于儿子的事让我很震惊。当人们试图要杀那只山羊的时候，儿子开始大哭大叫，并试图阻止他们的行为。最终，当看到血从山羊脖子里流出的时候，儿子哭着远远地逃开了。

What did he experience? It’s just violence, blood, and a kindly animal to be killed.

What was his feeling? Only fear, sadness, disappointment and maybe hate.

孩子经历了什么？惟有暴力、鲜血和一只温顺的动物被屠杀。

孩子的感觉是什么？只有恐惧、悲伤、失望，或许还有仇恨。

Later, I asked him why he cried, he told me that animals should not be killed.

And he asked me why people like to kill animal, I don’t know how to answer him.

后来，我问儿子为什么要哭？他告诉我动物不应该被杀。

他问我，人们为什么喜欢杀动物？我无言以对。
