即将在MPA的课堂上用英语演讲，1987年11月，时年小学一年级的我参加全区小学生讲故事比赛，那是我第一次演讲，到现在已经20多年，算是出道多年，但用英语演讲却还是第一次。而且这次老师还是要算平时分的，自然不敢怠慢。准备了有一段时间，找了同学帮忙指导，也查阅了一些资料，算是大功告成。把我的演讲稿发在这里，请大家指正。

 

 

 

厦门记忆

The  Memory  Of  Xiamen

 

老师们，同学们：

　　早上好。

　　我叫Hellen，来自……。谢谢大家给我这个用英语进行演讲的机会，我会好好努力。大约一年前，我和同事们一起到厦门进行了参观考察。虽然只有短短四天，但却留给我一段美好的回忆。就请大家随我的图片和文字一起，去感受鏊园的别致，去聆听鼓浪屿的涛声，去走进我的厦门记忆。

Good morning. Ladies and gentlemen，　　

My name is Hellen, I work in ……. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to speech in English, I will try my best to do it. About a year ago, my colleagues and I went to Xiamen for a tour. Although it lasts only four days, it left me so many happy memories. Now please follow my pictures and words, to feel the unique of Ao Park, to listen the sound of tidy in gulang island, to come into my memory of xiamen.

　　

　　2007年11月14日中午，我们来到天河机场。南方航空的飞机静静地停在地面上，等待着大家到来。兴奋的我用相机记录下旅途最完整的旅途——飞机、机票，等等。大家可以看到，这是我的机票。11时许，飞机准时起飞，划过云层，向东南方飞去。我的厦门之行至此正式拉开帷幕。

At noon of November 14, 2007, we arrived in Tianhe Airport. A Southern Airlines aircraft parked quietly on the ground, waiting for the arrival of passengeres. I was so excited that I use my camera to picture the trip completely——the aircraft, the tickets, etc. You can see this is my ticket. You can see this is my ticket. About 11 o’clock, the plane took off on time, acrossed the clouds, flying towards southeast. My trip to Xiamen was started.

　　

　　坐在靠窗的位置，我可以尽情捕捉云朵万千形态。选取了几张，展示一下她们的美丽。阴天，云朵也有些灰暗，可是却依旧引人入胜。有的堆积如絮，有的飘渺如烟，有的散布如岛……我真想伸手去抚摩她们。我望着千变万化的云彩，思绪也漫无边际。

While I was sitting beside the window, I could fully take the picture of various forms of clounds. Here I select some of these to show the beautiful scenes. Some clouds seemed dark in sky, but it was still fascinating. Some accumulated as cotton; some floated as smoke;some spread as islands.I couldn’t help touching them. When I looked at the ever-changing clouds, the thoughts were beyond imagination.

 

    当地面上的景物渐渐变得清晰，我便知道我的足迹即将踏上东南沿海这座美丽的小城。在经过一个小时左右的飞行后，飞机在厦门机场着陆。我心中掩隐不住的激动，就此可以开始挥霍在厦门的时光。

When the scene on the ground gradually became clear, I knew I would to set foot on this beautiful southeast city at once. After about an hour's flight, the plane landed at the Xiamen Airport. My heart was full of thrill,and I could enjoy the happy time in Xiamen.

 

    我们在厦门的第一站是南普陀寺。南普陀寺是一座著名古刹。建于明代永乐年间，明末毁于兵火。清代靖海侯施琅将军重建。我对佛教并无太多了解，只是随意走走看看。

The Nan Putuo Temple.was the first stop in Xiamen. It was a well-known ancient temples，it was built in Yongle, Ming Dynasty. Ming Yongle, destroyed by the warfire in the late Ming Dynasty. In Qing Dynasty, Jing Hai Hou General Shi Lang's reconstructed it. I didn’t have much understanding of Buddhism, just look and walk around.

 

    举着相机，记录下所见所闻——做法事的僧人，绿树掩隐下的大悲殿、橱窗里整齐陈列的罗汉……南方深秋的阳光，温暖明亮。白云朵朵，佛音袅袅，让人感觉时间变得柔软和静谧。

I held the camera to record what I had saw and heard——the monks who held Buddhist ceremony；Great Mercy Temple under the cover of trees；the Rohan arranged in orderly the window……the sunshine in the late autumn of south China, bright and warm.Clouds after another, the sound wave Buddha, give people the impression that time had passed slowly.

 

    在南普陀寺庙外，有一处人工湖，几只鸭子在湖心休憩。它们或拍打翅膀，或梳理羽毛，惬意无比。太阳的余晖洒落在湖面上，浮光跃金，也给这群小生命镀上一层金边。我逆光照下这片静谧的场景，原来生活中从来不缺少美丽的细节。

Out of Nan Putuo Temple, there is an artificial lake, a few ducks were enjoy there spare time in the middle of the lake, some were beat wings, some were comb feathers, All were exciting. Sunset Sprinkled on the lake,giving the small group of animals a layer of golden edge.I photoed this the tranquil scene against the sun.It seemd that life had never lacked of a beautiful moment.

 

    第二天上午，我们从厦门港出发，船游厦金海域。一湾浅浅的海峡，隔开厦门和金门，看船外碧波荡漾，抒渴盼祖国统一之情。右岸有民族英雄郑成功的石像。郑成功身高1.57米，而石像高15.7米，有纪念之意。船未靠岸，我们也只是能遥望他的高大雄壮。

There next morning, we set off from Xiamen habour, to have a trip between Xiamen and Jinmen. A shallow strait, devided them.The green ocean water was waving outside of the boat, we looked at it and eager to express the unity of our nation. There was a stone statue of nation’s hero Zheng chegngong on the right side of island. His height was 1.57meter in history, but the statue measures 15.7meter in the memory of honour. As the boat hadn’t reached island, we could only see the grand image.

 

    我们越过大陆和台湾的军事封锁线——大家可以看到这个灯塔，过了这个塔便是台湾的管辖范围。游船最后在距大殚岛200米左右的地方停留，这也是此行最靠近台湾的地方。大殚岛是台湾在大陆的军事最前沿，岛上的碉堡、要塞清晰可见。当然最醒目的还是“三民主义统一中国”的标语。

We crossed the military blocked line between the mainland and Taiwan——you can see the lighthouse. The area beyond it was admistrated by Taiwan. The boat was staying about 200meter out of Dandan island at last. This place is the nearest place to Taiwan in our trip. Dadan island was the most forward military position to mainland. We could clearly see the blockhouse and fort. Of course, the clearest one was the slogan “The Three Principles of the People, unify the China”.

 

    船游结束，回到厦门。看到的是“一国两制统一中国”的宣传口号。一样的红字，两相对照，让人感觉到两岸在意识形态上的明显差异。

When we got back in Xiamen, we could see another slogan”One country, Two systems, unify the China”. When we contrasted the same red characters, we could easily feel the visible differences in ideology between two sides.

 

    吃罢午饭，我们来到鼓浪屿景区。这是一座以钢琴闻名的小岛，因此码头也被修葺成黑白相间的钢琴键盘模样。这是位于鼓浪屿入口处的旅游标记。而另一张照片则反映了鼓浪屿的自然风光。鼓浪屿上还有有菽庄花园、钢琴博物馆、日光岩等景点。

After lunch, we went to Gulang island.It was well known to piano,so the pier had been repaired as piano keyboard. This is the tourist tag that located at entrance to the Gulang island Another photo shows the natural beauty of it. There were many tourist attractions on this island, such as Chuang Shu Garden, Piano Museum, Riguang Rock, etc.

   

    菽庄花园毗邻后湾仔海滩。当看到那片蔚蓝色时，我迫不及待地投入到它的怀抱。海水层层涌来，亲吻着我的脚丫，我感觉到沁入心扉的冰凉。我弯下身，掬起一捧海水，向远方挥洒。不经意间，我也成为这片海景的一部分。

Chuang Shu Garden adjacent to the beach which named Hou Wan Chai. When I saw the blue, I can not wait into the embrace of the sea. Waves flooed, kissed my toesI I feel cool thoroughly.I bent, held some water, threw to a distance. Inadvertently, I have become a part of this Landscape.

 

    晚上，独自走在厦门的街巷，打量着城市的夜晚。霓虹闪烁，车流不息，布置得非常温馨的家居店，福建日报报业集团的招牌……我努力用图片还原一个真实的厦门。只是旅店附近逛逛，没敢走太远。陌生的城市，独行的女孩，本来就没有安全感。再加上我又是天生的路盲。

In the evening, I walked alone in the streets of Xiamen, looked at the night of this city. Flashing neon lights, heavy traffics, the home stores which was decorated very warm, the signs of Fujian Daily Newspaper Group ... ... I try to reflect a true Xiamen by pictures. I walked just near the hotel, dared not go too far. Unfamiliar to the city, lone girl, lack of sense of security,and I was born of .

 

    第三天，我们来到集美区，参观陈嘉庚先生故居、鳌园和集美学村。最喜欢的是鳌园，它分门廊、集美解放纪念碑和陈嘉庚先生陵墓三个部分。鳌园里有很多石刻，汇集闽南石刻精华。

On the third day, we came to the Jimei district, visited the former residence of Mr. Chen Jiageng, Ao Park and Jimei. Ao park was my favourite, It composited of three parts: porch, Jimei Liberation Monument and the grave of Mr. Chen Jiageng There were a lot of stone sculpture in Ao garden, brings together the essence of Minnan stone sculpture.

 

    我更喜欢的是鳌园里的石阶，它们因岁月的侵蚀呈现出班驳和沧桑，却给人留下了很多想象的空间。我在石阶上攀爬，或凝视远方，或粲然一笑，或若有所思……时光已老，青春如花。

I like the stone steps in Ao Park. As a result of the years of erosion, there were mottle and vicissitudes, leaves a lot of room for imagination. I climbed on the stone steps, or gazed, or smiled, or thought ... ... Time elapsed, Youth like flowers.

 

    第四天我们参观了胡里山炮台。它位于厦门东南海端海岬突出部，是中国洋务运动的产物。始建于清朝。炮台分为战坪区、兵营区和后山区。

We visited Hulishan Fortress the fourth day. It was located at the promontory of sourthen Xiamen island. It is an outcome of the Westernization Movement in the late Qing Dynasty. It was subdivided three areas: battlements, barracks and a hill at the back,

 

    炮台景区还有几处景点。兵营区演武厅内用高仿真机器人真实再现当时守台官兵指挥作战及生活场景；战坪区有大炮弹头展示厅、大炮装配及发射演示厅等。

There were several scenic spots fort. There were robots to imitate the battles and the daily life of the officers and men stationed at the fortess. In the battlement area, there were exhibition hall, which showed artillery shells, artillery firing demonstration of the Office of assembly and so on.

 

    当天中午，我们即乘飞机返回武汉，我的厦门之行至此划上圆满句号。

    At noon that day, we flew back to Wuhan, my trip to Xiamen ended satisfactorily.
