Perhaps we should be pround of
ancestors and genes inherited from them, but if we acted more like
cheapskate ( miser, pinchfist, screw, skinflint, tightwad) than a
winning cavegirl, we would have been more happy. If we want to be
more rich in the industry world with refrigerator and government
insured banks, we'll have to cheat our ancient genes.
Procedure of evoluation urges us to
spend what we have seen, so the most succesful saving skill is
hiding our money to be far away from our line of
sight. If we think we are poor we can change our
instinct of
extravagance into austerity. A
well-known skill is less cash carried with us. To do this, at least
we can make fool of our genes who feels as if we had not enough
money to spend.
(The
In the film
of The Border, when he returned home,
Jack Nikelson found many expensive furnitures in his house. When
asked how much they cost, his wife said:" Don't worry about the
money... I've opened a mortgage account!" The danger of using
credit card is that we don't think we are spending
something valuable such as frosty cash, therefore, when someone
asks us to pay we are not aware of spending. If you are seeking to
be austerity, you'd better use debit card rather than credit card,
cash rather than debit card, or spend nothing than carry cash with
you at all.
Many people find that an alternative
of this stunt, to open more than one account, is
very useful. Choose an unconvenient account in a
bank from which you can't fetch your money easily while a
frequently used account, which always be a current account, have
fixed transfer times every month. The account should be the more
covert the better. For example, you can open the account in another
state which has no networked cashpoint nor debit card in your
state, or at least whose cashpoint is very far away from you.
The way easy for us to get the money
is our enemy. Sacarstic as it is, but in fact, the best bank is the
most difficult to get money from. For example, we can choose such a
bank that the interest rate is very high but the fee is extremly
expensive each time.
The instinct given to us when we were
given birth to the world does not always brings us
proper financial actions. Most of us need to study and the
procedure of study always full of pain.
...
...
The most effective method of saving
is hiding the money we have. Whom on earth do we want to hide out?
It's ourself, and more accurately, the most impulsive genes we have
that we need to hide out.
...
If you have a job, you have hidden a
part of your money from you by the social insurance sysytem. Though
you are not saving money on purpose but this will help us saving
the money for use after our retirement. Essentially, the more we
earn, the more the government will pay us after our retirement.
Though insurence has obvious disadvantages, it has
relieved the poverty of the old-aged Americans. At the beginning of
the plan the American people about 65 years old was the poorest of
all but now they have become the richist group.
There is another effective way of
saving, the key of which to be successful is
that it doesn't look like saving but buy
belongings.Though Americans of 60
years old averagely have only 8,300 dollars of financial
belongings(financial property), the family belongings(property) of
the retired people exceed 35,000 dollars. If they can't
pay the debt, the belongings will be taken away.
Surprisingly, even those who are
not so good savors can accumulate enough property
to avoid bankruptcy .
(Brooke
(Calvin
Calvin
In eighty's of 20th
century, Brooke Shields had been advertised for Calvin Klein in a
series of vivid program. One of them said, "If I had money
I will buy Calvin Klein, and if I had some margin,
I will pay the rent with them." The way to
successful saving also has a priority which seems like rebeling of
othodoxy like this.
A good savor will say: "If I have
some money, I'll save a little, and if there's some margin, I'll
buy some food and house." When they have money, people will save
some of them and consider something else. Only if the sum saved is
fixed and insured by means of mortgage debt
or deduction of salary, most of them can balance their income and expenses. But if they
want to save after spending, they'll always find
nothing left.
It's painful to set
up a automatic saving mechanism. But nearly everyone can get over
it to get used to his new income. Mortgage holding and secret
common fund are simply
the icing on the cake for the rich, but what they
mean to us who are not so rich enough?
The secret here is increase the sum
to save in proper time. For example, we can increase the rate of
the retirement account when we get a increase in
salary. So the money we take home is as much as
before. We can just complain about it but we know we can do with(bear) the previous
salary for we did it
before.
If the finance margin of the
government increases we will benifit from decrease of taxation.
This is another excellent oppertunity
to increase our savings. Similarly, if we get some extra money such
as reducing of tax rate or obtaining the presentation, the best
thing to do is to invest at once.
(The Millionaire
Next
《The millionaire Next Door》has
described how the ordinary people has become rich. The conclusion
is surprising that most people become rich not because they earn
more but that they spend less. For example, a millionaire will wait
for a year to change their obviously unfashionable
car and perhaps he has a Timex instead of Rolex.
Why we
feel so difficult to save while so easy to do
other things? The answer is that those actions related tightly to
our survival and propergate in thousand of years are easily to
learn. Only on those problems we can't solve by
instinct shall we study hard. There is an
interesting example (vivid example)how
children will act towards
dangerous things.
Why we are instinctively scared of
snakes instead of guns? In the year of 1998, Americans killed to
death are more than 30,000 while those bitten to death are less
than 2 dozens. In the United States, those who shocked to
death by lightning is 8 times of bitten by snakes.
But snakes have caused one of the strongest instictual
reactions.
......
It is reasonable that we should be
scare of gun and don't care about snake respectively. But we are in the contrary by
nature(by birth). Think it over and so it explains. The
genes which can cause the scare has been inherited from our
ancestors like any other genes. When humanbings lived on hunting
and collection, many people were bitten to death by snakes while
someone killed by gun only happened recently. So we are disgusted
of our ancient enemies, the snakes. Some
quadrumana(Primates) have also been bitten to
death by snakes so they have the
same genes of abhorrence genes. Even adault
chimpanzees and mokeys who have stayed in zoos all
life and have never seen a snake are scared about crawlers
instictively like us. On sight of snakes they will immediatly be
frightened and dysphoric.
