Cry, but also medicine.”

My gripping tale
When he finished, there was a long pause. Then the instructor cleared his throat. “Well,”he said sheepishly, “I suppose there’s no point in telling you my gripping tale of the squirrel I saw gathering nuts this morning.”

“Seven-thirty,”Richard replied.
“That’s late,”insisted his fatyer.“Four-thirty is early.”
“No,”replied our night owl, “that’s late.”

Who‘s doing all the pounding?
As a break from long hours of hitting the books,my brotherm Wayne, would take a detachable wooden two-by-four from his bed and tap the ceiling with it.The student living above him would respond in kind. One night things got out of hand.
After a series of raps back and forth Wayne’s roommate joined in.Soon three guys upstairs were pounding on the floor. When the resident assistant came to my brother’s door, Wayne and his roommate claimed they had absolutely no knowledge of the noise’s origin. Just then one of the men from upstairs, still holding a board, suddenly burst into the room.
“Do you know who’s doing all the pounding?”the R.A.asked him suspiciously.
“No,”the floor pounder answered boldly. “But when I find them I’m going to hit them with this two-by-four.”

“你知道是谁总在敲(楼板)吗?”舍监怀疑地问他。
“不知道,”这位敲楼板者大声地回答道, “如果我找着他,我就用这块2x4的板子揍他。”
