欢迎希尔博士和夫人来访上海。Welcome to Shanghai, Dr. and Mrs. Hill. 请允许我作自我介绍。Please allow me to introduce myself. 我叫洪建信，是中美制药有限公司的副总经理。My name is Jianxin Hong. I'm duputy managing director of the Sino-American Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. 久闻先生大名，我在研究生学习时期所写的两篇论文中曾参考了您的研究成果。I've long heard of you and as a matter of fact, I referred to your research findings in a couple of my papers during my graduate studies.
我为能在上海接待您和您的家人而深感愉快，我很高兴我们能在今后的半年里合作共事。It gives me such a great pleasure to meet you and your family here in Shanghai and I'm very glad that you will be working with us for the next six months. 我们将给您配备两名实验助手。必要时我们还想邀请您的一名同事一起参加我们的这项研究工作。We'll provide you with two lab assistants and if necessary, we should like to invite one of your associates to join us.
您若愿意的话，我们想把你们先安排在市中心的假日酒店下榻，从假日酒店开车40分钟可到我们的实验室。If you don't mind, we'd like to accommodate you (put you up) at the Holiday Inn, which is located in the downtown area, a forty-minute drive from our lab.旅馆住宿费由公司负担。The company will pay for the hotel rooms.如果你们不喜欢假日酒店，也可以搬到公司的招待所去住，我们的招待所是一幢家庭式公寓小楼，地处浦东张江高科技园区，环境优美安宁，人见人爱。Our guesthouse, a small family-style apartment building, is also available to you if you decide to move out of the hotel. The guesthouse is located in Zhangjiang High-Tech Park of Pudong on the other side of the Huangpu River, a beautiful and peaceful environment that has never failed to attract any visitor.

我一直期待着能够访问这个伟大的国家，同时我为自己能够在贵汽车工业集团的总部所在地与中国同事合作共事而深感荣幸和愉快。I've been looking forward to visiting your great country, and I feel very honored and pleased that I'll be working with my Chinese colleagues in the head office of your automobile group. 您知道这是我第一次访问贵国，来这里亲眼目睹对我来说曾经是非常遥远的“东方巨龙”的风采，领略其神奇的魅力。As you know, this is my very first visit to China, and I'm here to witness with my own eyes the magical power of the once very remote "Oriental Dragon". 你可以想象当我收到您邀请我前往中国与您共事的信后我是多么激动。You can imagine how excited I was when I received your invitation to join you in your project. 我大学时期有一位教东方文明史的教授，他使我对博大精深的中国儒家思想和道家学说有所了解，同时也使我萌生了一种难以言表的“中国梦”。Back in my college days, a professor of Oriental civilization introduced me to the wealth of Confucianism and Taoism, and by doing that he planted in the depths of my mind the inexplicable "China dream".
自从踏上中国这片美丽的国土后，我的心情更为激动。And I'm even more excited now that I've set foot on the beautiful land of China. 我多年来魂牵梦绕的中国之旅竟然可以在此得以实现。I've had my "China dream" for years and I'm here to realize this dream. 可不是吗，我在年内都能以这座迷人的国际大都市为家，真是棒极了。Just think this charming cosmopolitan city is going to be my home for the remainig days of the year! 想了解的这个神秘之国的东西真是太多了，从古老的文明到当代的改革，这一切我都想知道，我期盼着忙开始我的中国生活。There's so much to learn about this mysterious country, from the ancient civilization to the current reform. I'm really looking forward to my Chinese life.
我要充分利用这次机会尽可能地多了解中国，多交一些中国朋友。I'll maximize this opportunity to learn as much as I can and make as many friends as I can.相信我，不久我便会成为一名中国通的。 I promise I'll become a real Chinese expert in no time.

Listen to the tape and interpret the following dialogue alternatively into English and Chinese:
A：先生，请问您是从美国来的约翰逊先生吗？Excuse me, sir, are you Mr. Johnson from the United States?
B：是的，我叫大卫·约翰逊，你一定是李小姐了。Yes, I'm David Johnson. And you must be Miss Li.
A：是的，我叫李敏。约翰逊先生，我一直在此恭候您的来到。Yes, I'm Li Min. Mr. Johnson, I have been expecting you.
B：谢谢你来接我。就叫我大卫吧，名字比姓听来更为亲切一些。Thank you for coming to meet me. Just call me David. First name is more friendly than last name.
A：好的，欢迎来北京，大卫，旅途可好？OK. Welcome to Beijing, David. Did you enjoy your trip?
