空英:关节痛证问题的发生机率有多少?那些人群最容易受侵袭?
SC: How common are joint problems? Who is most affected?
DH: Everyone from young people to the elderly has joint problems. Injuries to joints compound., eventually leading to the more serious problem of osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis-the destruction of cartilage affects 50 percent of people over the age of 55 and almost 100 percent of those over 75.

黄医:从年轻人到长者人人都存在关节问题。受伤害的关节恶化最终导致更严重的关节炎问题。关节炎会破坏软骨。55岁以上的人百分之50受到影响。75岁以上的长者几乎百分百受到侵袭。

空英:那些部位的关节最容易出问题?
SC: Which joints cause the most trouble?
DH: Osteoarthritis develops very slowly and can occur in any joint. The joints most commonly affected are the knee, hip, hand and spine. Usually joints in the lower part of the body are the most troublesome because we use these joints to walk and bear weight.

黄医:关节炎发展的过程非常缓慢,人体任何部位都可以出现关节炎。常见关节痛最多的部位是膝盖,髋关节,手和脊骨等。一般来说,人体的最下端的关节痛(炎)最为棘手。因为我们需用这些关节来走路和承受人的体重。

空英:怎样能预防关节痛(炎)的问题?
SC: How can one prevent joint problems?
DH: Daily stretching and strengthening exercises lead to stronger and more flexible joints that have more resistance to injury. It is also important to get plenty of rest and do a good warm-up and cooldown before and after exercising. Using protective equipment and avoiding unsafe situations can help prevent injuries from occurring in the first place.

黄医:经常做一些伸展运动及加强锻炼,就会使身体更强壮,关节更富有韧性,更能抵受伤害。同时也需要多休息。在做运动之前,先做准备运动(暖身运动),运动完后要让身体逐渐降温。同时要使用防护器材,避免不安全的场地做运动,才能防止伤害的发生,始终安全第一。

空英:什么原因引起关节痛?
SC: What causes the joint pain?
DH: Obviously, injuries from muscle damage can lead to joint pain, but the most common cause is swelling or destruction of the cartilage. Though most people eventually recover from joint injuries, damage to thye cartilage can’t be reversed and can only get worse. The pain and stiffness of osteoarthritis will persist and increase with activity.

黄医:很明显,肌肉的伤害导致关节痛,但最普遍的是软骨遭到破坏引起的红肿。虽然大多数的患者最终会康复,但受到伤害的软骨就不可逆转,只能变得更糟糕。关节炎的痛症以及僵硬将会持续并加重病情。

空英:如果患上关节痛,怎样处置?
SC: What should you do if you already have joint pain?
DH: If you are already suffering from joint pain, there are things you can do to improve your situation: The R.I.C.E (Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation) principle is a simple treatment that can be used with all injuries. Physical therapy treatments, such as massage, are also prven to provide long term relief of joint pain.
Be careful when selecting a treatment, though. Avoid traditional remedies that manipulate the joint as they may lead to further injury.

黄医:如果你确实已经患上关节痛,这里有些方子会使你的病情得到改善。The R.I.C.E(多休息、冰敷、按摩、提升)这首先是一种简单的治疗,对所有的损伤都适用。还有物理治疗,例如;按摩,可以长时间减轻关节痛。

需要注意的是,一旦你确定何种治疗方案,尽量避免传统的疗法,因为推拿关节将会导致更严重的伤害。

If the problem persists, see your doctor. He or she may be able to offer medication that relieves symptoms. A new treatment called Orthokine may also be useful. Orthokine offers hope to osteoarthritis sufferers by actually halting the progress of osteoarthritis and providing long-term relief.

如果,问题继续存在,那么就立刻看医生。他/她会给你开出药方(敷药)将会减轻你的症状。现在一种新治疗方案,称之为;Orthokine 效果相当不错。Orthokine给关节炎患者带来光明与希望,这种治疗最终能阻止炎症进一步恶化,并可以长期减轻患者的痛苦。
