The Reunion Tour kicks off with David Lee Roth back, Van Halen once again took on the center stage of The Bradley center.
A little more than a half hour delay, lights went out and reappeared, it's still all weird to me, to see both Eddie and David Lee with shorter, greyer hair.
With top-hat, general suit, "Elton John like" flashy shades, Roth presents tonight as his usual flamboyant self.
Even at age 55, Roth showed he can still put on a show. That once amazing deep, wide vocal hasn't lost much, and his signicher high leg kicks, Roth managed more than just front the crowd, but to the younger generation (in case you missed) what the Van Halen hey days were all about.
Tonight was all about hits, from You Really Got Me, Dance The Night Away, cover of Pretty Women, to Ice Cream Man, and Panama. To the fans, clearly the clock was set back 30 years, and the songs remain the same. Maybe the only incoherent sight, 17 year old bass player, Wolfgang Van Halen.
And lastly, but certainly not the least, Eddie Van Halen--The original guitar hero.
Idol of many 80's guitar players, most in awe of the shredding techniques, but few understood the soul and that unique feel of Eddie.
More than 2 hours of classic, in your face Rock N' Roll, 30 years later, Van Halen never disappoint, and Eddie, well, what can I say, a pix is worth 1000 words.
Finishing note, when Jump was played at last, everyone was left standing, thx for adding to the memory, and tonight will be history.
