 Critique of the lesson plan about self-abased

 

The lesson plan which I choose to study is concerned about say goodbye to self-abase. I will deal with it through theories of psychology, counseling or personal growth curriculum, which I learnt in the module, and then give some suggest ways of improvement to enhance students’ personal growth.

 

Introduction

The lesson plan is designed by Liang Buoy from the Chinese university of HK, and this lesson plan needs 35 minutes in class of Middle school.

 

Purpose

The purpose of this lesson plan is to let students aware of their self-abased in their life, then to find out how it come out unconsciously through some specific games. At last, we should know the importance of self-loving and find methods to develop one’s self-esteem.

 

Procedures

To achieve these proposes, the guider design some steps: firstly, leader ask a question like Dose anyone who like yourself very much? in order to give out the topic to students. Secondly, everyone is asked to write down 6 sentence start with I should be a man/woman like…’ Thirdly, discussing about how these I was wrong ideas come out, some probably related to parents while others come from friends and society.

What’s more, leader will conduct a game to all, letting students experience the forming processes of self-abased. Maybe when we were young, we have to rely on adults and find ourselves worthless or tiny, then the self-abased rose. As to solve the problem, the leader then tell others to change should or ought to can, writing down sentences like I hope I can be…’ rather than I must do it! and then sharing the sentences in groups. Finally, the leader give out some famous saying from different regions like loving your neighbors as same as yourselves’ to end the class.
