My Thoughts About Robinson Crusoe Ⅱ(2007-05-12 21:05:18)
"Robinson Crusoe" is not a complex story
in the background: Robinson, who comes from a
merchant family, devoted to the idea of a life filled with
adventure and challenges overseas. He was determined to give up an
easy and comfortable life to realize the dream of traveling the
world. Once the ship overturned, Robinson had been thrown into the
waves on a deserted island where he would spend 28 years
alone.
The main part of the novel is a colorful record of his life during
the wasteland. Apart from the wonderful, strange stories,
Robinson’s character attracts me most He dared to take risks and
chase an unrestricted life. Even living in a wasteland, he will
never give up. He needed not only face the beasts, but the greatest
weakness --loneliness. Robinson, in the spirit of self-confidence
and relied on his wisdom to use the material -- some of the results
of human civilization, the tools and weapons. With amazing
perseverance and a will to survive, he lived down!
As Quixote has a servant-- Sancho around, it
destines that Mr Crusoe is “not only one to struggle”. In the
24th year on the island, he saved a savage who named "Friday." In
his education, "Friday" became a loyal servant. In this way,
Robinson established himself in a wasteland of the material and
spiritual kingdom. Facing difficulties in life, Robinson's actions
show a strong character and reflect the pioneering spirit rose of
the Bourgeois period.
Now, in the West, the novel's protagonist "Robinson" has become a
synonym for adventurers, thousands of readers name it as the hero.
Not only because it is an excellent adventure novel owns various
wits, but also it reflects the meaning of mankind to conquer and
transform the natural spirit. When Robinson were desperate, he only
believed in God would encourage him not to easily give up, but just
struggle for survival. I think this spirit will inspire every
reader.
"Robinson Crusoe" has become an eternal literary history for its
extraordinary artistic expression. Before this novel, European
novels mostly based on the performance of the kings or the Knights
beautiful romance as the main content. Defoe began trying to depict
the lives of ordinary people in everyday language. That’s quite
commendable and why it is so popular.
P.S You know,
rewriting a passage always makes me not well. I also have the same
feeling when I were to write the passage which handed out with no
point. I don’t mean that I’m not keen to complete homework, but
it’s quite true that I’m bothered how to explain my thoughts
about this novel onto paper with my very limited English words. So
I use a translator software to reach my illegal purpose, but I want
to say I didn’t act as “download all the passage from others”.
Maybe this is my largest fault to make the misunderstanding.I
promise it won't happen.
