The ink seems to give a single impression to people. But it is a indispensable writing tool in ancient society. The wonderful art of Chinese painting is realized by this kind of special material .The world of ink is not dull but colorful. It is very precious that the ink can be presented to today’s people completely as a kind of consumed product.
The
natural ink or
half-natural ink is used as writing material before the artificial
ink is invented. The invention of ink is later than brush.
According to the reference, the ink is used in ancient ink rope,
ink punishment, and ink turtle. After this long history process,
artificial ink begins to appear in Han Dynasty which generated from
the pine smoke and kneaded by hand firstly . The nature of ink made
by mould is hard.
It has a complex process to
made the ink from the making of smoke to the completed product. In
which the engraving in the model of ink is a very important and
creative process. There are all kinds of shapes such as the square,
the round and the long ink etc. The model of ink is composed of six
blocks of the up side ,down side, left side, right side, back side
and upright side . Round model need four blocks of board or two.
And the introduction of the ink style is usually engraved on the
flanks so as to change easily when repeatedly used. The outside
shapes of the ink are various such as ink of original
color.
The using of the ink is
very particular in Chinese painting. There are two kinds of ink
including lampblack ink and turpentine ink. The character of the
lampblack ink is black and lustrous used more in Chinese painting,
while the turpentine ink is not only used to act the ink butterfly
and ink silk .Chinese painting mostly uses the ink spindle whose
color is very important. Ink with purple light is the best, the
next one is ink with black light .The red , yellow or white ink is
inferior. The ink has to use the fresh water to file slowly by
average force until the water becomes thicker. It has to file just
before using so it is fresh .The ink filed for a long time is
called the old ink which can't be used except for the special
use.
The ink liquor is usually used instead to paint in nowadays such as the Chinese ink liquor, Yidege, Caosugong and etc.
