Now let me try to express how important it is when someone who knows little English.

 

My boss had graduated from his primary school and never learn more since then. But how can you imagine a Chinese guy who knows very simple English words and lives a so happy time. This is what I experienced during this 31 days in Los Angeles.

 

All the English words my boss knows are: YES, NO, GOOD, VERY GOOD, THANK YOU, BYE BYE, WATER, CHEERS, ID... and something like that, less than 20 words in total.

 

So can you imagine how could he pass the toll station on freeway? He prepared a lot of coins and just keep throwing them into the coin box(no matter what the value is on the coin). When the rail raises up, he stop throwing.

 

So you may ask what he could do when he use out all his coins. No worry. You know, everytime he buys anything he will take out a bill of $100. In this way you needn't talk to the cashier and you will get a lot of coins at the same time. My boss even doesn't know how to distinguish the value of the coins.

 

You know how he buys hamburgers? He can speak "One No. 1"(a code for a kind of hamburger) in his Chingish and show one of his finger. Once upon a time, he goes to buy 6 hamburgers for our 6 guys and he doesn't know SIX. You know how he make it? He just says "ONE NO. 1" and drives through the fast track for 6 times... So he make it.

 

Last weekend we went to Disneyland in LA, and he drove there in the evening later. You know how he bought the ticket? He even bought a ticket at a lower price than us!('cause if you go there in evening and only for PARK 1, it will be cheaper) He just pointed at the PARK 1 and nodded. The ticke office man asked: Olny for PARK 1? and pointing there at the same time. My boss just nodded. As you know, then he made it at a lower price than us.

 

There are even more funny stories about him here, but I cannot remember too much.

 

So you may ask how could such a funny man live in such a place. Now I am telling you he has villa, 2 cars, ID, bank deposit, membership of casino in LA and even company here.

 

Haha, there are much more than I wanna tell...
