   探险家型（EXPLORER），附带24小时红色辅助针，以方便探险爱好者辨别日夜。
    劳力士蚝式恒动探险家型腕表（Rolex Explorer）是人类探索之旅的最佳见证，它将制表技术与探险历程完美融合，有效将思想转化为行动，其精准的表现更是蕴含了勇往直前的精神、卓尔不群的探索以及出众的突破创新等含义。探险家型是劳力士与外界环境完美融合的最佳典范。20世纪20年代后期起，劳力士便将自然世界作为实验室，在各种严苛环境下测试腕表性能。凭借这中出类拔萃的先驱探索精神，劳力士腕表曾数次陪伴探险家攀登喜马拉雅山，他们的探险经验为腕表的发展与不断提高带来直接动力。
    Rolex Explorer I 一向是劳力士最热门、最富吸引力的表款之一，黑色面盘和3-6-9 阿拉伯数目字时刻刻度赋予了Explorer I 兼具典雅和运动的迷人气息。社会名流、影视红星的热爱，荧光幕前、流行杂志与钟表杂志的大幅报导，更让Explorer I 在港、台、日变成时尚的宠儿。
    劳力士的探险家二号手表Explorer II 相较Explorer历史虽短，但是畅销程度并不比一号低。一般相信Explorer II 的初次现身是1971 年，当时的型号是1655。1655 基本上是将当时的劳力士 GMT Master Ref. 1675 小改款所衍生出来的新款型。Explorer II Ref. 1655 将GMT Master 的24 小时印刷式可旋转表圈改成固定镂刻式表圈，使用的机芯和GMT Master 一样是Calibre 1575。
    劳力士探险家二号 (Rolex Explorer II, reference 1655) ，起初只有黑面版本，是为满足时常活动于黑暗之中、不辨日夜的洞穴探险家而作。这就解释了为何设立清晰的橙色第四大指针结合 24 小时外圈告知上午与下午。这个设计在上世纪九十年代时被意大利的收藏家们昵称为 “freccione”，即大箭头的意思。
