Can a bad relationship between a son and his parents ever be healed?

Four years later, in 1984, my parents finally received permission to bring me to the U.S. At the time, I felt overjoyed about going to America. I was going to be with my mommy and daddy.

I started to feel rejected and unwanted. I began to doubt my parents’s love for me. And a deep resentment developed in my heart.

They wanted to take me with them, but they couldn’t. It hurt them to leave me behind. But in my anger, I couldn’t see that.

My relationship with my parents was a daily struggle. Because of my hurt and anger, I would often attack them with harsh words. My parents, hurt and frustrated, would then respond by yelling at me. This conflict continued for years, until one day, everything changed.
