谢谢小璐的分享。
周末去书店,翻到一本书,叫《与神对话》。令我再次印证,所谓saint(圣人),同样也掩盖不住自身的stain(污点/瑕疵);所谓whole(全能),自然显现的竟然无论是who(谁),都存在着这样、那样的hole(缺口/漏洞)。自然界中最为神奇的东西,恰恰在于运用这样、那样的不足之处,互补成一个美丽“心heart” ——“世界earth”!  就让我们学会欣赏彼此的不足,懂得满意各自的不完美吧。

There is only one thing in the whole universe that we could learn from external observation, that one thing is ourselves.

整个宇宙中只有一个我们可以通过外部观察学习得到的东西,那个东西就是我们自己。

 

The goal of education, the humanistic goal is ultimately the "self-actualization" of a person, the becoming fully human, the development of the fullest height that the human species can stand up to or that the particular individual can come to. In a less technical way, it is helping the person to become the best he is able to become.
教育的目的,乃至人性的目的其根本是一个人的自我实现,使我们成为真正意义上的人,达到整个人类或特定个体所能企及的最高高度。通俗意义上讲,就是帮助一个人成为最好的自己。

 

We must remember that knowledge of one's own deep nature is also simultaneously knowledge of human nature in general. What is most personal is most general.
我们必须记住对个人深层本性的认识同时也是对普遍人性的认识。越是个性的东西越普遍。

  

KNOWLEDGE is about information, WISDOM is about transformation. The request for information and transformation must begin with the question. Questions create reality. The biggest mistake is not asking the right questions.
“学”指的是接收信息,“道”指的是将其变形。对信息和变形的探求须从问题开始。问题创造了现实。最大的错误是没有问正确的问题。

The importance of finding fit, meaning the fit between technique, or tool, or idea, and yourself. Not everything would be right for you. You will be exposed to it, you will try it, and then you'll make up your mind - "Yes, this is what I want to incorporate" or "no, this is just not relevant for me".
寻求“适合”的重要性——即技术、工具或想法与你之间的适合。并不是所有的一切都适合你。你将会接触它,尝试它,然后做出你自己的决定——“对,这是我想要融入的东西”,或者“不,它对我没有多大关系”。

 

From 1967 to the year of 2000, 5504 reaseach articles on anger, 41415 research articles on anxiety, and 54040 articles on depression; Only 415 studies on joy, close 2000 articles on happiness. Life satisfaction came on top: over 2500 studies.- The negative studies versus the

positive studies, the ratio that you get is 21 to 1.
The science of psychology has been far more successful on the negative
than on the positive side. It has revealed to us much about man's shortcomings, his illness, his sins, but little about his

potentialities, his virtues, his achievable aspirations or his psychological height.

Psychology needs help. Research that focuses on what works.
从1967年到2000年,有5504篇论文研究愤怒,41415篇论文研究焦虑,54040篇论文研究抑郁;只有415篇论文研究幸福,近2000篇论文研究快乐。生活满意度研究最多,超过2500篇论文。—— 消极研究和积极研究的对比,你得到的比率是21:1。
心理学这一学科对消极方面的研究远比对积极方面的研究成功。它过多地向我们揭示了人类的缺陷,他的病症,他的罪过,却很少谈到他的潜力、他的优势,他可实现的愿望或者他的精神高度。

心理学需要帮助。集中精力研究真正有效的事情。

 

It is important to focus on what works. Because what we focus on rather creates reality. If we focus on what is working, we'll have more working in our world.
关注真正有效的东西至关重要。因为我们关注的事物会转变为现实。如果我们关注真正有效的东西,我们就将在我们的世界中发挥更积极的作用。

 

Appreciate, two meanings. First meaning is say thank you for something, not to take it for granted. The second meaning is to grow. When we appreciate the good appreciates, the good grows; When we don't appreciate the good, when we take it for granted, the good depreciates.
Appreciate有两层含义。一层含义是为某事而表达感激之情,而不是认为某事理所当然;第二层含义是增值。当我们appreciate好的东西时,好的东西会回应,它会增值;当我们不appreciate好的东西,把他们看成理所应当,好的东西就会贬值。

 

To take the responsibility for your life is recognizing that no one is coming, no one is coming to make your life better for you. You are responsible for your life, for your self-confidence, for your self-esteem, for your happiness. It's up to you to make the most out of this experience.
对生活的自我承担就是意识到没有人会来,没有人会来让你的生活更美好。你要为自己的生活负责,为你的自信、自尊和幸福。能否最大限度的从这次经历中获益全在于你自己。

 

You are ill because you don't have enough health in your life, because you are not pursuing those things that make you healthy. We diminish ourselves and that's why we become ill.
你生病时因为你的生活还不够健康,因为你不去追求那些让你健康的东西。我们削弱了自身的力量,这时我们才会生病。

 

In addition to studying what works is also to study the best, so that we can understand and realize the potential in all people. Human history is a record of the ways in which human nature has been sold short.
除了要研究可行的方法,还要研究最优秀的个体。这样我们可以理解和意识到整个人类的潜能。人类历史是一个人性逐渐流失的过程的记录。

 

Change: If someone changes, the question is no longer "is it possible to change?", but rather "how is it possible to change?"
改变:如果一个人改变了,问题就不再是“是否可能改变?”,而是“怎样才可能改变?”

 

One of the most significant barries to people doing things in the world, to actually introducing change is that they understimate their ability to bring about change.
人要想在世间有所作为,真正实现转变,面对最显著的障碍之一是他们低估了自己实现改变的能力。

 

All history is a record of the power of minorities and of minotities of one.
人类历史是少数派和一个人的少数派的权力记录。

All change begins in the mind of single person or a small group, and then it expends. The question is "how does it expand?" Change happens exponentially. We underestimate our capacity to effect "change", because we underestimate the growth of exponential function. We need to understand the nature of the power of one.
改变往往是从一个人或一小众人的思想开始,然后不断地扩大。问题在于“它是如何扩大的?” 改变是以指数级发生的。我们低估了影响“改变”的能力,因为我们低估了指数函数的增长。我们需要理解“一”的力量。

 

We are infliuencing people and the world every minute of our lives, The question though is on which direction are we going to do it. It is necessary for us to bring about a positive exponential function.

The right expectation is to believe in change from within.
正确的期望是相信内在的改变。

 

Give ourselves the permission to be human. We need a space of unconditional acceptance. Rejecting our nature leads to suboptimal performance, emotionally as well as in terms of external performance.
准许我们自己为“人”。我们需要一个无条件接受自我的空间。拒绝本性会导致次优表现,不论是在情绪上的还是外在的表现。

 

I accept my nature, I accept my state, and that's it— this is Active acceptance. It means understanding that certain things i can not change, and certain things I can and ought to change.

It feels good to feel good. We see it, appreciate it, water it, shed a light to it, and it appreciates, it grows.

When we experience nagative emotions, our thinking narrows and constricts. We are in the "fight or flight" mode, and then we enter a vicious cycle. That's when it can become depression.
Positive emotions do the opposite. They broaden and build. Broaden and build leads to positive emotions。 Then positive emotions further broaden and build. That's a virtuous cycle.
当我们体验消极情绪时,我们的思维变得狭窄、收紧。我们进入“对抗或逃跑”模式,从而掉进一个恶性循环里,直到成为抑郁。
积极情绪正好相反,是扩展和建立。它们能带来积极情绪,积极情绪进一步扩展和建立,形成了良性循环。

 

Happiness is contagious. If you are happy, and work on your happiness, you are contributing indirectly to other people's happiness.
快乐是会感染的。如果你快乐并专注于快乐,你就是间接地为对其他人的快乐做贡献。

 

Be the change you want to see in this world.
成为你在这个世界想成为的。

 

People do what you do, not what you say. The optimal way spreading happiness is to work on your own happiness. By example.
人们会按照你“做”的,而不是“说”的去做。传播快乐的最佳方法是努力争取到自己的快乐。以身作则。

 

We are what we think. With our thoughts, we make the world.
境随心转。我们的思想造就了这个世界。
