Infinitive without to (不带 to 的不定式)

WRONG: You should to finish (完成) your work now.

CORRECT: You should finish your work (工作) now. (After words like SHALL, WILL, SHOULD, WOULD, MUST, MAY, MIGHT, CAN, COULD, WOULD RATHER and HAD BETTER, we use the SIMPLEST form (最简单形式) of the verb (动词) without `to'.)

WRONG: I saw a boy to run across (横过) the road ().

CORRECT: I saw a boy run across the road. (Certain (某些) verbs may be followed by an object (後面有主语) and the simplest form without `to'. They are the verbs about our senses (感觉) (SEE, HEAR, FEEL, WATCH (观看), NOTICE (注意), MAKE (令到) and LET ().)

WRONG: She saw him entering (进入) the room, taking out a gun () and killing himself (自杀).

CORRECT: She saw him enter the room, take out a gun and kill himself. (In this sentence we should use the simplest form but not the `-ing' form because it suggests (表示) that she saw the three actons (行动) COMPLETELY (完全地), whereas (另一方面) the `-ing' form usually (通常) suggests incomplete (不完整的) actions or actions happening (发生) at the same time (同一时间).)

EXCEPTIONAL CASE (特殊例子):

WRONG: She was heard (被听到) speak foul language (粗语).

CORRECT: She was heard to speak foul language. (But when MAKE, LET and THE SENSES VERBS are used in the PASSIVE (被动形式), they are followed by `to'.)
