I think there are mainly two possibilities. Some words of one or two syllables often skip your mind in a second, which are very hard to grasp if you haven't realized their importance in sentence meaning.

There is an unforgettable verb in my mind—VETO. I ignored it at its unfamiliar sound during my training for news items. But then my understanding of the whole sentence is totally reversed, because VETO means refuse assent to (a legislative bill) so as to prevent enactment. My advice for this is to pay attention to verbs of "BIG" meaning and "SMALL" sound.

Some words of more than two syllables are much easier to catch. But due to some sound change from original familiar root words, our ears are not used to that change. For instance, SPECI`ALITY from `special, FOR`MALITY from `formal, IDEALITIC from IDEAL. From this reason, we should train our ears by listening more to TUNE IN, or repeating to ourselves aloud.

2.在听VOA special news时,在从news转到听feature时,文章变长了,在听的时候如何有效区分文章的意群,请指点。
It's very hard to store more information longer than 20 seconds in our short-term memory. Scientific study shows that we can only keep instant memory for no more than 20 second. After 20 second, if we can't use more effective way to memorize, say rote, image transfer, the instant information will be automatically replaced by later information installing.

When the news become longer, the best way to help is to take short notes. How to differentiate the sentence group according to its meaning, please see the example:

(First read the passage by yourself, then divide the sentence groups according to their meaning)

Computers are opening up a whole new world of learning. They are becoming more and more common in colleges and schools, in the office or work-place, and even in the home. Fortunately for us all they are also becoming cheaper and cheaper. Many businesses, government departments and other organizations are increasingly using the internet to communicate with other people. "electronic mail" or email as it is called is becoming increasing common. While early programs could only handle simple messages, most can now carry pictures, and even sound. Why is email so useful? One reason is its cost: it is much cheaper to email a friend than to make a long distance phone-call. In addition, an email message is delivered almost instantly--there's no seven-day wait if you're emailing someone on the other side of the globe. You can keep in touch with family and friends even when they are away--they can visit a cybercafe and check their mail from there. Many companies now rely on email--it is much cheaper, it's much faster and it's much more reliable than ordinary snail mail. So next time you have a chance to learn about sending emails make sure you do so!

(now look at the division I have made for you, noticing the capitalized words!)

(although you may be confused by the unfamiliar sound of CYBERCAFE and SNAIL, you can make a correct assumption based on the understanding as a whole !)

3.听课文、听力练习、新闻抓不住重点,不知道什么样的内容是重点。重点词是什么?请举例说明。
The first sentence is always the most important one for a news item. You need to tune in before listening to broadcast.

As for those listening materials in textbook, I think you should listen for a purpose, drop some hints from the designed questions.

For example, if it is designed to test your ability about number, date, year, or time, please be prepared for that; if it is for location, pay attention to those words showing direction. Always be prepared and attentive!

4.自己如何进行系统的听力训练。
I suggest you use systematical way to train your listening.

Firstly, choose a suitable material, for example "Listen to This" --Waiyanshe Publishing House is a good material for listening training.

Secondly, don't give up half-way. Rome was not built in a day! Listen to English songs can be enjoyable because you are fond of the rhythm and beautiful sound, but when it comes to dictating script of the songs, it might be painful.

5.进行听力练习时,感觉自己听懂了,但还是写不出所听到的内容大意?
Taking notes need some skill. Before blank filling, you need to be fully prepared. What are the key words for listening comprehension? If you just write down preposition, article or pronoun, they can hardly do any help to your understanding; if you just want to spell out a three-syllable word without recognizing importance of the sequence of words afterwards, you can never come to a general understanding of the whole passage.
