They say,love is sweet
Love is bitter
I placed a grain of wheat
between my teeth
I tried,so long
Yet couldn't crush it
The wind salt-flooded my wide eyes
That child,a recluse
On the boundless plain
Came to my mind

                       (Taste, by Yu Xiuhua)

I Hit a Grave with My Palm

By Yu Xiuhua (China)

So close to the earth

So close to the sky

This is me, and my village, with May hectic as hell

September slow as paradise

At those moments of my absence

I would hit a grave with my palm

Tears shower, then turn into wild flowers

Those bones shine, rise and transform into white clouds

Please, do not pant or sigh

Who is dwelling inside this grave?

I just couldn‘t tell

A bird, with its beak

Has taken away its rusted inscription

I feel scared: is he somebody? A poet or a monk?

If I hit like this

The grave would yield

Some yellowed scripture

Yet excuse me for being selfish

I could level this grave with my palm

So I could grow rice or corn

Now I am more like a tomb robber

Always doing this damn thing in the middle of the night

She Dwelt among the Untrodden Ways

BY  William Wordsworth

She dwelt among the untrodden ways

         Beside the springs of Dove,

A Maid whom there were none to praise

         And very few to love:

A violet by a mossy stone

         Half hidden from the eye!

—Fair as a star, when only one

         Is shining in the sky.

She lived unknown, and few could know

         When Lucy ceased to be;

But she is in her grave, and, oh,

         The difference to me!

When I Am Dead, Dearest

By Christina Georgina Rossetti

When I am dead, my dearest,
Sing no sad songs for me;
Plant thou no roses at my head,
Nor shady cypress tree:
Be the green grass above me
With showers and dewdrops wet;
And if thou wilt, remember,
And if thou wilt, forget.

I shall not see the shadows,
I shall not feel the rain;
I shall not hear the nightingale
Sing on, as if in pain:
And dreaming through the twilight
That doth not rise nor set,
Haply I may remember,
And haply may forget.

I died for beauty, but was scarce

By EMILY DICKINSON

I died for beauty, but was scarce

Adjusted in the tomb,
When one who died for truth was lain
In an adjoining room.

He questioned softly why I failed?
"For beauty," I replied.
"And I for truth - the two are one;
We brethren are," he said.

And so, as kinsmen met a-night,
We talked between the rooms,
Until the moss had reached our lips,
And covered up our names.
