Since I am the invitational Chairman of this year's Shanghai Film Festival, I am extremely happy to tell you that this year, we have a line up of real BLOCKBUSTER stars to come to Shanghai. I think this is the most amazing line up ever in the 9 year history of the Festival.

confirmed are the following.  if you do not know them, you really must find out for yourselves. They are hugely famous worldwide.

Liam Neeson (Schinlder List)
Natasha Richardson  (White Countess, this film is the opening film of the Festival)

Sigourney Weaver (the Alien, Gorilla in the Mist, Snow Cake to be screened on the 19th at the Festival)

Hugh Jackman (x-man that is screened as well on the 19th at the Festival) Oh, I am thrilled.  the last 2 times I saw him, I saw him in New York.  Once in the famous concert hall - Carnegie Hall performing an american musical.  then  later again in NYC on broadway playing  the husband of Lisa Minnelli, Peter Allen.
He was amazingly good. he is even a great dancer in addition to a great singer.

 

Andie MacDowell. (4 weddings and a funeral) if she has done nothing else, this movie alone will make her many people's favourite.  She is also the face for LOreal for 20 years.  She is really very beautiful and her face is so so famous world wide.

 

Catherine Deneuve (the Face of France, the Icon in France) She will come for the closing.

Ang Lee the chinese oscar director

 

Arnold Kopelson the Oscar producer of Platoon, and the first movie ever aired in china after the opening. it was The Fugitive with
