托马斯阿罗姆<<大清帝国城市印象》》这本画册于1843年发表，即鸦片战争结束后翌年，当时在欧洲流传很广。《大清帝国城市印象》（十九世纪英国铜版画），选自英国建筑师、插画设计家Thomas Allom(1804-1872)的画(de0 hua4)册——《CHINA ILLUSTRATED》。作者曾来华旅游，回英后与传教士G.H.Wright合作出版此书，内收百余幅反映中国风土人情的金属版画。此画册在近代西方颇有影响，被视为了解东方巨龙的一面窗口。这部画册的英文书名原为《中国(zhe bu hua ce de ying wen shu ming yuan wei _zhong guo)：那个古代帝国的风景、建筑和社会风俗》（China The Scenery Architecture and Social Habits of That Ancient Empire）。

我买到了托马斯阿罗姆的版画几十幅，总想把这些版画搞明白。但是铜版画的花体字认起来太困难了，英国170年前所使用的中国地名弄清楚就更不容易了。好在网上登了这批英国铜版画的部分信息，2003年上海出版了《大清帝国城市印象》托马斯阿罗姆铜版画大部分图和意思都清楚了，但是这本书没有英文的目录。网上中英文对照的目录也看不全。我整理出这份目录也只有123幅铜版画。完整应该是128幅（一说是143幅）其它几幅图和英文目录还是找不到。只能有待时日慢慢来了。这个目录我想有很多错误还有很多的问题没有搞清。先放上去慢慢修改吧。因为是英国人画的铜版画，英国人标注，了解英文的原意我想是很有必要的。
