Politics
in Shanghai sees a fight for whom runs Shanghai Fashion week; hence
the two trade fairs and multiple fashion shows that will follow
next week. As a designer, we are caught in the middle and to make
all parties happy, attend both trade fairs! Only in China might
this occur… rather than complain we bow courteously and thank them
for a great opportunity for exposure.

The
MARY CHING girls went to check out what Follie Follie had up their
sleeves at their launch.
With Gaile Lai starring as its global brand ambassador, Folli
Follie launched their 2011 global brand campaign on at M1NT,
Shanghai. In the hopes of appealing to a wider audience, Gaile Lai
depicted three different personas in the campaign: the ‘’Classic
Gaile’’, the ‘’Trendy Gaile’’ and the ‘’Rock Gaile’’. Set against a
backdrop of runway shows, brunches and powder rooms, Gaile is
accessorized with a variety of jewels, handbags and watches from
Folli Follie’s unlimited collections.

Year's Eve in China until Wednesday night! New Year's resolutions
commence on Thursday, so we have three more nights (and school
nights, at that!) of debauchery to come before we initiate our
'raw-veggie-n-vodka' diet, this year's plan to stay svelte whilst
still having fun.

MARY CHING friend and Gallerist Elisabeth De Brabant is featured in Harper's Bazaar's February issue and our jaws dropped to the floor when we saw just how smoking hot this mother of two looks all dolled up. She wore her MARY CHING Sissy stilettos for one of the shots and looks like a 1930s movie star as she poses on the staircase of her beautiful French Concession villa. We are officially jealous!

We'll keep the identities of
Ms. CHING's wacky friends secret; suffice to say a good time was
had by all at a birthday soirée in her flat last friday
night!
