Slash，1965年7月23日出生于英国伦敦的汉普斯顿，在英国的斯塔福德希尔长大，原名Saul
Hudson。母亲是美国黑人而父亲是英国白人。双方都是艺术家并且都在娱乐界工作。他母亲是一位服装设计师，客户主要是娱乐人物。其中有象David
Bowie那样的让人难以忘却的客户。而他父亲主要给人提供唱片录制提供艺术指导，其中两名比较著名的客户是Neil Young和Joni
Mitchell。
十一岁时，Slash离开英国的父母只身一人移居到洛杉矶。由于出身英国，他在美国只能算是一名移民，就这样又单身过了好几年。最后一家人还是在洛杉矶团聚，就在那里Slash经过了艰难的转变，因为当时的南加州还是比较保守的。一头长发、一身牛仔和体恤显得与当时的其他孩子格格不入。置身校外，他在家过着放荡不羁的生活。受到父母那些艺术家朋友的熏陶影响，Slash已经习惯了音乐界的那些偏激及情绪。Joni
