BANGALORE: On June 18, miscreants tried breaking into Muthoot Finance office in Tavarekere, and its manager Ravichandra Shetty had gone missing then. Now, police suspect Shetty has been kidnapped by persons known to him.

SELAH, Wash. -- It could cost thousands of dollars to repair a vandalized fiber optic line that serves the Selah area, authorities said.

Charter Communications discovered the problem shortly before midnight Tuesday, according to the Yakima County Sheriff's Office.

Someone apparently cut the line, which runs to Selah from Yakima over a Yakima River railroad trestle.

Sheriff's officials said one of the cut cables belongs to Charter Communications, which provides video and Internet service to Selah and phone service to East Selah. The city of Yakima provides Internet and e-mail services for the Selah Police Department.

A representative for the city of Selah said services were expected to be restored Wednesday. A Charter spokesperson couldn't be reached for comment.
