美式地道口语（一）：How come?

一、EXW
EX WORKS（…named place）--工厂交货（…指定地）是指卖方在其所在处所（工厂、工场、仓库等）将货物提供给买方时，即履行了交货义务。除非另有约定，卖方不负责将货物装上买方备妥的车辆，也不负责出口清关。买方负担自卖方所在处所提取货物至目的地所需的一切费用和风险。因此，这个术语是卖方负担最少义务（minimum obligation）的术语。
如买方不能直接或间接地办理出口手续，则不应使用本术语，而应使用FCA术语。
二、FAS
FREE ALONGSIDE SHIP（…named port of shipment）--船边交货（…指定装运港）是指卖方在装运港将货物放置码头或驳船上靠船边，即履行了交货义务。这是指买方必须自该时刻起，负担一切费用和货物灭失或损坏的一切风险。
FAS术语要求买方办理货物出口清关。如买方不能直接或间接地办理出口手续，则不应使用此术语。

美式地道口语（三十六）：小把戏 要说的一口好英语, 除了要多和老美会话, 多看电视电影之外, 最重要的还是要懂得如何融入美国人的生活, 了解他们的习惯. 这篇笔记主要谈的就是老美平常彼此之间会玩的一些小把戏, 例如, 有一个游戏叫 truth or dare. 几乎美国人小的时候都玩过这种游戏, 你知道 truth or dare 是什么吗? 如果不知道的话, 你就该往下看了. 1. Truth or dare. 说实话还是胆量大? 这个游戏其实很简单, 就是你可以选择要讲实话还是不说实话. 如果选择要说实话的话, 则别人问你任何问题你都要诚实地回答, 当然可想而知, 这些问题通常都是很难回答的, 例如, 'did you kiss that guy?' 或是 'are you a virgin?' 之类的. 但是如果不说实话的话, 则别人可以叫你去作任何一件事情. 例如, 把脚伸到马桶里, 或是泡一杯里面加了各种调味料的水要你喝. 总之就是整人就对了. 或许你会问, 那我说谎别人怎么会知道? 通常是这样的, 问你问题的人通常都已经知道问题的答案, (可能就是你最好的朋友), 他会利用问题让你把一些不可告人的事向大家公开. 所以你通常是没有机会说谎的. 2. 美式地道口语（三十一）：生日派对 这周我去参加了一个老美的生日 party. 这大概也是我这一辈子到目前为止所参加过最热闹的生日 party 了! 他们把家里布置得如同童话世界一般, 而有些点子实在非常有趣, 例如他们把寿星的照片放大影印贴满整个屋子, 而且由于这个寿星是女生, 所以她们还把这些影印的照片涂上口红, 并且在胸前装上二个红色的小汽球. 大家可以想见这样子的景象是多么地有趣了吧!! 1. It's a surprise party. 这是一个惊喜派对 由于大家的保密工夫到家, 所以生日的人事先并不知道有这么一个 party, 而是到了那里, 灯一开发现居然有那么多人在等她, 感动的只差没当场哭出来. 像这种的 party 就称为 surprise party (注意不是 surprising party!) 我自已当时也蛮感动的, 自己从没见过那么热闹的生日 Party. 有时一个人在美国的生活也是蛮孤单的, 要是能有人能记得你的生日就已经不错了, 哪里还敢奢求这样一个 Party? 2. That's a real eye-opening experience. 那真是一个另人大开眼界的经验. Eye-opening 指的就是另人大开眼界, 像是这么样一个别出心裁的宴会, 就可以算是 an eye-opening experince 或是你可以用 open my eye. 比方说人家带你去一个很豪华的别墅,

美式地道口语（二十六）：NOT 我想大家都知道, 说话和写文章是有很大的不同的, 说话讲求的是能够清楚地表达自己的意思, 因此在用字上要力求简单扼要, 但重点部份要强调出来. 所以说话时也是跟女人穿的裙子一样, 越短越好, 该露的地方要露, 不该露的地方就不要露. 你能够清楚地掌握这个重点吗? 现在让我来考考你, 如果有人问你, 'did you break this plate?' 你要强调这不是我干的, 你会怎么说? 你会不会说, 'no, i didn't.' 但是要注意喔! 'no, i didn't' 只是说, '我没有作' 这跟 '不是我干的' 有很大的差别喔.. 那正确的说法应该是怎样? 让我们来看看这一集, not 的用法. 1. not me. 不是我. 嘿... 没想到这么简单吧! 这种看似简单, 文法也不对的句子, 却是老美天天挂在嘴边的话. 这句话简单明了, 而且把重点 '不是我' 给强调出来. 这是非常好的一个句子. 记得昨天去看新出来的电影 007, the world is not enough. 当 james bond 开始在怀疑石油大王的女儿 ( sophie marceau )是否一手自导自演这整出戏时, 她就说了这一句, 'not me' 另外, 老美也很喜欢讲 'wasn't me.' 这跟 'not me.' 都是一样的意思, 同样强调这不是我干的. 还有像以前大家很流行机车联谊, 结果很不幸你的

美式地道口语（二十一）：拒绝

要拒绝别人光是说 'No.' 是不够的, 还得要有充分的理由才行. 特别是在对付那些打电话来推销的人. 此外, 要很客气又很礼貌地拒绝别人也是一门学问, 例如别人约你出去, 你要如何婉拒他, 让人家下次却愿意再找你呢?( 除非人家对你有意思, 那又另当别论了). 像我刚来美国没买车, 买菜都要靠别人接送, 所以学长就有交代, 别人如果找你去买菜, 就算你不太想去, 最好还是不要拒绝人家, 不然你一次不去, 二次不去, 第三次人家就不找你了. 所以我就曾一天之内去买了三次菜, 看来要拒绝别人还真是不容易耶. 这集就让我们来看看怎么用英语拒绝别人.

1. I am sorry to turn you down.
我很抱歉必须拒绝你.

Turn you down 就是拒绝别人的要求, 例如有一次我要请老美去参加一个 party, 她说她很抱歉无法参加, 就是用的这句, 'I am sorry to turn you down.', 另外像是男生要追女生, 女生要拒绝他, 也可以用 turn down, 例如, 'I am sorry but I have to turn you down.'

另外不要忘了, turn down 还有一个解释就是把音量或是冷气关小.. 以前我也常把 turn you down 和 let you

美式地道口语（十六）：抱怨

这集的笔记要来谈谈一些抱怨的说法, 例如交通太差, 或是某个人很糟糕, 这些抱怨的用法在英文中要怎么讲? 我想人生不如意事十之八九, 所以要用到这些句子的机会也一定不少吧! 当然啦, 还是希望每个人每天都能快快乐乐地生活, 都没有什么抱怨才好.

1. Our team sucks.
我们这一队很烂.

Suck 这个字在美国用的很多, 它就是指很烂, 很差的意思. Suck 是一个动词, 所以在使用上跟烂这个形容词是不太一样的, 例如你可以说, That traffic here really sucks! 就是说这里的交通糟透了的意思. 有时也听得到人家用 suck 的形容词 sucky. 例如有一次我室友的女朋友先是车子抛锚, 然后又下起大雨, 更糟的是她还找不到电话可以求救. 所以她那天一来我们这, 就说了一句, Today is very sucky, everything sucks. 说得很好吧!
Suck 这个字的原意是指用嘴巴吸的意思, 所以有人就设计了这么一个吸果冻的比赛. 规则很简单, 就是不能用手, 只能用嘴巴把果冻吸光. 所以比赛一开始, 只听到观众大喊, Hey, you suck! 表面上听来是说, 你快点吸的意思, 事实上则是暗地里骂人烂的意思.
