The weather has been super comfortable this fall, and I love it. No day hotter than 30, nice enough to go for a walk and not be soaked in sweat. That’s some kind of wonderful.

School is back in session and I don’t know a single person who isn’t excited about that! Even our most reluctant students are eager to get back into the swing of things and study like crazy. Learning is fun, so let’s learn more!

Traci recently earned another prize for being so wonderful - an award for contributing to the betterment of the city and making this a much better place to live. Congratulations, Traci! You rock!

It has been a great July! Our summer programs have kicked off and we’re having a blast with our children, young adults, and many foreign friends.

Children are rocking and rolling and learning so much. Seeing how much fun they’re having, it makes me want to be a kid again.

Young adult students are also doing great, with performances, skits, and other activities coming at them everyday.

Adults are also mixing it up; they have been able to meet many new people and are practicing and speaking more than ever.

It’s hot. And then it’s cold. Really, this weather has been wacky. I’m excited about the summer getting under way, more sunshine and more time outside playing. The kiddos like it too, they really enjoy playing at the park and playing airplane. You ever think about how life was when you were a kid? I do sometimes, and I’m really happy I’m not one anymore. I enjoyed childhood, except for the part where I didn’t have my own money to buy toys. Now I have kids to buy toys for, and money to buy them, it’s a great combination. That Lego set? Oh yeah, it’s definitely being bought. And after I’m done playing with it, I’ll let the kids enjoy it.

Hope life is treating you great! Stay cool! And when that odd day comes where it’s suddenly cold, stay warm. Peace.

We’re stateside now, taking a little visit to see some friends and family and do a little business while we’re here. The weather has been pretty nice, a few days of snow and a few days of 30 degree weather in Maine, and now in Louisiana it’s in the 70s and 80s. That’s in Fahrenheit. It’s a little warm. The skies are blue, the water clean, and the food unfortunately so fattening.

I’ve done pretty well controlling myself; I’ve only gained 20 pounds in a week. Just kidding, I’ve not gained any weight, yet. The boys have adjusted to being over here, although jetlag really got to all of us the first few days. We woke up at three, four, and five in the morning before we got into a good pattern.

We look forward to getting back and seeing everyone again, we miss you all. And we’re taking lots of pictures to show you, see you soon!

Well that was a nice holiday rest. After a week plus off it’s nice to get back in the swing of things. Classes are open again and life is back to normal.

I really enjoyed my holiday. I stayed at home and ate a lot. Really, I wouldn’t be surprised if I put on a pound or ten. Cinnamon rolls, biscuits, chicken, potatoes, cakes, brownies, and that’s just the tip of the ice berg. Traci cooked plenty and cooked well. Isak and Kaleb were fun to hang out with, too, as we went to the park with them and had several excursions.

The weather is warming up (slightly) and I’m looking forward to spring. It seems to me to have been a mild winter. What do you think? Either way, I’m a big fan of spring and am gladly awaiting it’s approach.

We have welcomed the president Dr. Aguillard of Louisiana College and his associate Mr. Tim Johnson to Horizon English Center and we are very happy to have had them here with us. It is a pleasure hosting such wonderful people and they are fine individuals. We have created plans to work together further in several ways in including teacher exchanges, student exchanges, holiday programs, and more.

They are now safely back in Louisiana starting up the new semester as we wind ours down here.

The New Year is here and so we welcome the year of the rabbit! We want everyone to be safe and take care. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!

Merry Christmas everyone! What an exciting few weeks it has been. Parties and presents and of course plenty of food, what else could someone need? Besides love, of course.

We’ve had a lot of fun, Traci received her award for winning first place in the writing competition for all of Zhejiang. There was a celebration Monday before Christmas where she was presented the award and interviewed for several local TV stations.

The Tuesday after that, our own Horizon party was held and everyone had a blast. A gift exchange, team competitions, and lots of laughter made it a delightful night. Thanks to Sasha and Alina especially for making it such a rocking party.

It’s getting cold everyone, so make sure to dress warmly and take care of yourself!  Yes, winter is back with a vengeance, chilling and cooling and freezing us, so stay warm.

Horizon English has been a hopping place since the last post, and as always, there is a lot going on. From parties and classes to Business Club meetings and local park cleanup, there is no want for something to do.

We’ve had many visitors visit our school and Haining. Everyone who comes here is impressed with the passion of the students. That’s what we’re all about here, helping students learn and better themselves, while having a good time.

What a great National Day Holiday we had! October 1^st was once again celebrated in style and we’re happy to hear that everyone enjoyed their breaks.

We’ve some exciting things coming for Horizon! This month will be extra busy, as we meet with parents and students about going abroad, attend fairs for learning about schools, meet with visiting foreigners at our school, take a trip to Shanghai to eat at an American style restaurant, celebrate Halloween, and much more. Already things are hopping as things get geared up for the coming winter.

Children’s classes, young adults, and adults all are enjoying the new classes and programs that have been offered for them. Children are enjoying their weeknight evening review and focus classes, while young adults are enjoying the weekly youth hangout space and advanced curriculum classes, and adults are enjoying the new student initiative program classes, where the student is able to improve
