茶叶战争

Tea war

敲开中国近代史大门、奠定了东西方现代文明格局的“鸦片战争”,其实更应该被称为“茶叶战争”。

TheOpium War, which opened the door of China's modern history and laid thefoundation of the modern civilization pattern of East and West, should becalled "Tea War".


公元1793年,乾隆八十三岁寿诞,万寿无疆的颂歌响彻云霄。此前一年,大英帝国以祝寿为名,派遣由马嘎尔尼率领的外交使团出使中国,以图实现真正意义上的近代首次东西方大帝国相会。

In 1793,Qianlong was 83 years old. And the birthday carols resounded to the skies.Theprevious year, the British Empire, in the name of that birthday, sent adiplomatic mission led by Macartney to China in an attempt to achieve the firstreal meeting of eastern and western empires in modern times.


使团全部费用,由东印度公司承担。公元1600年成立的英国东印度公司,于1664年,把从中国进口的一筒两磅两盎司的茶叶,作为贵重礼品献给英王——英国直接进口中国茶叶的历史自此开始。

The fullcost of the mission shall be borne by the East India Company. The British EastIndia Company, founded in 1600, in 1664, gave a container of two pounds and twoounces of tea imported from China as a valuable gift to the King of England,which first directly imported Chinese tea to Britain.

一百余年过去,1785年,英国进口华茶已达1050磅。东方神秘绿叶在英伦三岛的传奇,启发了东印度公司的思路。这是一个既拥有军队又贩卖茶叶的公司,它一手握着剑,一手拿着账簿。此时,它产生了一种两全其美的梦想,将华茶移植殖民地印度。正是这种关于茶的梦想,把东印度公司和马嘎尔尼,送上了同一条驶向大清王朝国土的舰船。

Morethan a hundred years passed, 1785, the British imported Chinese tea has reached1050 pounds. Eastern mysterious green leaf in the British Isles legend,inspired the East India Company. It was a company that owned the army and soldtea, with a sword in one hand and a ledger in the other. At this time, it had adream of the best of both worlds, to transplant Chinese tea to colonial India.It was this dream of tea that put the East India Company and Magalny on thesame ship heading for the Qing dynasty.

马嘎尔尼的外交使命,一开始就因为纠葛于双膝还是单膝向中国皇帝下跪而失败。但华茶为他弥补了一切,把优质茶树苗引入印度,光这一项也就不枉此行了,而且,在下个世纪,这次出使的费用将被百倍地偿还。离开北京南下返国的途中,马嘎尔尼使团由北京至杭州,复由陆路经浙江、江西、广州。在浙江和江西的交界之处。他们得到了茶树的活株。

中国浙赣交界处藏之于深山的瑞草,从此来到南亚次大陆恒河流域的加尔各答落户生根。可以说,没有二百多年前从那艘马嘎尔尼出使中国的“豺狼号”战舰上运载去的华茶,便没有今日作为世界上最大茶叶出口国的那个印度。

China'sZhejiang-Jiangxi border hidden in the mountains of Ruigra, from this time tothe South Asian subcontinent Ganges River basin Calcutta settled down. 中国向西方投之以桃时,并未想要他们报之以李。但一种植物的芬芳还是引来了另一种植物的迷香。两种植物各从东方和西方出发开始了它们在近代史上的独特远征。一百年时间,英国人的茶叶消费量大涨两百倍,这个时候,这个国家面临的真实问题是:英国人未来有没有足够的银子从中国购买茶叶?所谓茶征服世界,是茶这种饮品的传奇而已,但回到国家的关系角度,英国政府如何处理国民的种群体性趣味偏好?由茶出发,我们又回到历史演进的一般描述:英国为了换回国内亟需的茶叶,一方面想方设法从美洲弄到白银,另一方面又庆幸在印度找到了引起中国人购买欲望的鸦片。于是,全世界因为茶叶、白银和鸦片而连接在一起了。过去我们谈论对中国有决定性意义的“鸦片战争”,相对集中于鸦片之于中国的意义,忽视了更关键的茶叶之于英国的重要性。那场战争,以及中国被动地进入全球市场,茶,才是更隐匿的线索。1813年至1833年,中国的茶叶和英国的鸦片的交易量之比是一比四。清帝国在毒品中动摇了。

The war, and China's passive access to global markets, tea, is themore insidious clue. From 1813 to 1833, the ratio of the volume of Chinese teato British opium was the same. Than four. Tea ispeaceful, opium poppy is evil; as tea went west, opium galloped east. Tianjin,Shanghai, Hangzhou, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Guangzhou and other places had all becomefamous tea distribution places. After the Qing Empire signed the Nanjing Treatyin 1842, the fast arrow ship carried Chinese tea and sailed all round to thePacific and Atlantic Ocean. The booming modern history of China was thus openedby tea, so the Opium War, which we said, was even more the "Tea War". 

茶叶虽小,影响世界,力量却不弱。一片小小的鲜叶,无论炒青作绿茶,还是萎凋成红茶,漂洋过海,千回百转,最终成就的历史,远远超出我们的想象。

如果不交给专业茶仓存储,在家庭里,又该如何处理呢?

家庭的存放环境:

1、湿度:环境相对湿度不要长时间高于80%,处于60%左右更好。
