    2009年7月5日，发生在新疆首府乌鲁木齐大规模的暴力骚乱事件，震惊了全世界。据不完全统计，“7•5”事件已造成156人死亡，1080人受伤；260余辆机动车被烧被砸，其中11辆是警车；209家店铺、门面和2幢楼房被焚毁，过火面积达56850平方米。

   “7•5”打砸抢烧严重犯罪事件是建国以来在新疆历次事件中造成人员伤亡和经济财产损失最严重的一次，是国内外影响比较大的事件。

    骚乱事件表明了当前在我国人民内部民族矛盾和冲突问题已经不容遮掩和回避，少数极端分子长期敌视民族团结现状、妄图分裂国家。在他们的策划组织下，遇到环境和条件适宜的时候就会积极鼓动煽动群众闹事，图谋分裂和破坏国家统一。

    灾难之后，痛定思痛，事件背后的政治经济文化根源值得深思。

    从根本上讲，骚乱事件说明了我国政治体制在自治区今后更需加强政治建设和政治代表性。

    有人或许会指出，在毛主席年代为什么没有在新疆出现如此严重的骚乱事件。笔者认为主要是党的一元领导体制在那时是比较高效的，很好的整合了政治矛盾
