On my honor, I have neither given nor received unauthorized aid (Choate 专用).

“Who wants to be the representative of the orchestra to welcome Mr. Miller, Deputy Secretary of the U.S.Department of Education, and ask him questions?” the principal of our school, Ms. Pengzhi Liu asked us after she had came to our rehearsal hall to accompany Mr. Miller. Her words were just like a bombshell followed by a long silence.

What a great opportunity! I brain stormed up with so many questions at the moment. How did he see Chinese education reform 10 years from now? How different would it be from in the U.S.? What aspects of the Chinese education system would he take back to the U.S.? From his point of view, why do so many Chinese students rush to the States to have their education there? I found myself shaking with excitement.

But, wait a minute! Was I ready to stand up and talk to him? Until the moment they came to our rehea

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment. ” –Ralph Waldo Emerson

When I first saw this quote, I couldn't help but read it out loud. It amazes me how Mr. Emerson's saying parallels the values my parents have instilled in me, though in a different language. Looking back on the past 15 years, memories like vivid pictures come to my mind. While my life has had its share of tears and laughter, one constant in my life has always been the saying, ”Be Yourself.”

“Hey! Christine. Help yourself to some cola! You must be thirsty.” Yes, I may be thirsty but my stomach is never filled with sodas since they are unhealthy. “No, thank you for your kind offer, but I am not used to drinking cola. A glass of water is good enough for me.”

Although I have not be proved to be hea
