1. And get the money off of Charlie for those phone cards, right?

    a.   首先,这句话是省略了”you’ll”,或是“you’d”,

And, (you’ll or you’d) get the money off…

You’ve got the money off of Charlie…

2. Just leave it in my very capable hands.

3. Hey! Don't forget to shred the tracking numbers.

Tracking Number.

注1, PIN: Personal Identification Number。

4.     We love it when you guys drop in.

评论:drop in 或是 drop by, drop over 都是同一个意思。

to pay an unexpected or casual visit —often used with on

而answers.com 的解释为Pay a brief, casual, and usually unannounced visit.

5.  Rise and shine.

    Get up.

    Up and at’em.

at’em, 原来也就是 at them, 那时的them是敌人。 up and at’em, 在Answers.com中,解释为get going, get busy.

Up and at 'em--there's a lot of work to be done.

arise, rise and shine, get going, get up, greet the day, pile out, roll out, shake a leg,

turn out, up and at 'em, wake up

6.  Couple of guys raided the home of an Asian businessman

a.     couple of guys,翻译成“2个”或“几个”都对。

answers.com 中 raid 的第二个解释。

1.    A surprise attack by a small armed force.

2.    A sudden forcible entry into a place by police: a raid on a gambling den.

3.    An entrance into another's territory for the purpose of seizing goods or valuables.

7. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a court appearance to shower for.

      5. To give permission to leave; release

If you don’t mind..”

8. To get off my butt and do something with my life.

      http://www.idiomquest.com/learn/idiom/get-off-one's-butt/

Get off one's butt. = To stop being lazy.

9.     Just forge a few bad checks.

  bad check:

Any check dishonored, for wrong endorsement, lack of endorsement, insufficient funds,

  account closed, and so on.

10.        Rip off a few overpriced hotels.

rip off: steal, rob

11.      You're reaching.

"Reaching" means that one is being overly-optimistic or is even exaggerating. Here's an example:
"I believe in little green men from Mars because I've seen them in my dreams"
"Aren't you reaching a little?"

Now, Bruce just look right into the camera right there.
Tell us your name, your age, where you were born.
My last name is Lee, Bruce Lee.
I was born in San Francisco in 1940.
I am 24 right now.
And, you worked in a motion picture in Hong Kong?
Yes, since I was around 6 years old.
And, when did you leave Hong Kong?
1959, when I was 18.
I see.
Now, the record to me, Bruce we talked
I understand you just had a baby boy.
And, you welcome go sleepover, have you?
Three nights.
Tell the crew, what time they should the picture in Hong Kong.
Well, it's mostly in the morning because it's kind of noisy in Hong Kong.
You know, around 3 million people there.
So, every time you have pictures,
it's mostly say around 12 AM to 5 AM in the morning.
I see, they love that there.
And, you went to college in United States?
Yes.
And, what did you study?
Philosophy.
I see.
Now, you told me early of today that Karatie and Jujitsu
are not the most powerful or the best forms of the oriental fighting.
What is the most powerful or the best form?
Well, it's bad to say the best, but in my opinion,
I think Kong-Fu is pretty good.
You tell us a little bit about Kong-Fu.
Well, Kong-Fu is originated in China.
It's the ancestor of the Karatie and Jiujitsu.
It's more a complete system and it's more fluid.
By that I mean it's more flowing.
There's a continuity in movement, in stead of the
"One-movement", "Two-movement" and "Stop".
Would you look right into the camera lens and explain the notion
of the glass of water as it is applied to Kong-Fu?
Well, the Kong-Fu the best example will be a glass of water.
Why? Because the water is the softest substance in the world.
But, yes, it can penetrate the hardest rock or anything, granite, you name it.
Water also is insubstantial.
By that I mean you cannot grasp a hold of it.
You cannot punch it and hurt it.
So, every Kong-Fu man is trying to do that.
To be soft like water and flexible and adapt itself to the opponent.
I see. What's difference between a Kong-Fu punch and a Karatie punch?
A Karatie punch is like an iron bar.Whang!
A Kong-Fu punch is like an iron chain with an iron ball attached to the end.
And, it goes Wang, and it hurts inside.
OK. Now, we're going to cut and in just a second..
We will have you stand up and show us some Kong-Fu and some movements.
OK.
OK.
Test takes 2.
Directly at the camera, Bruce. Directly at it.
Now, give me a three quarter this way.
And hold it. And, give me a profile that way all the way.
Good, hold it.
Now, come back to the profile on the other side.
Hold that. Give me a three quarter on that side.
And give me a right to the camera again.
All right, now the camera will pull back, and first show me the
movements and classical in Chinese theater.
Classical Chinese theater.
Well, yeah, what we talked about in the office.
How they walk and how they start to move?
Well, in the Chinese opera they have the warrior and the scholar.
The way the warriors walk would be something like this.
Walking this way straight, come out, bend, straight and walk out again.
And an ordinary scholar would be just like a female, a weaker, 90 lbs.
as a child, or whatever.
You'll be just walking, you know, like a girl view, shoulder up and everything.
So, by the way they walk you can immediately tell who he is?
Right, what character they represent.
Show us some Kong-Fu movements.
Well, it's hard to show it alone but I will try to do my best.
All right, maybe one of fellows will walk in, you want to do that?
Yeah, it would be..
Go ahead. Go ahead.
Although, accidents do happen, but you know..
There are varied kinds of strikes.
It depends where you hit and what weapons you would be using.
To the eyes you would use fingers.
Don't worry, I wouldn't…
To the eyes..Or straight to the face,
from the waist, everything on.
Oh, just a minute. Let's move the gentleman around this way.
So, you're doing more in the camera. OK, swell.
And then, there's a bend arm-strike using the waist again into a back hit.
Let's have this record back up, just in case.
Go ahead. Continue.
And, of course, Kong-Fu is very sneaky, you know the Chinese
they always hit low from high go back to the point.
Don't worry.
Turn on the other way, would you, Bruce?
OK.
Would you want to come here?
These're just the natural reactions.
Right, right.
Natural reaction.
Chi in the camera a little bit, show us again.
Alright.
There's a finger jab.
There's a punch.
There's a patcher and the low.
Of course, then they use the leg, straight to the ground or come out.
Or, if I can back up a little bit, they start at something then come back.
All right.
He's kind of worried.
He has nothing you worried about.
Once again, show us how a good Kong-Fu man

Hi! I am Laura Decarlo,
certified interview coach and President of the Professional Association
of Resume Writers and Career Coaches, Career Directors International.
I am sharing strategies for planning to ace your job interview.
Right now, I am going to talk about handling salary questions and increasing your offer.
The most important thing you need to first know is
that you should never bring the topic of salary up in the interview process until you have an offer.
But when the employer brings it up, you have to respond.
This is simply a screening tool they are using
so the best answer is the one that doesn't knock you out of consideration
before you have had a chance to sell yourselves.
For instance, you might say –
At this early stage I don't feel that either of us has gained enough information
to really value my skills for the job yet.
Do you think we could discuss this later in the interview process?
Or
I am negotiable, how much do you have allotted for this position?
The employer might be satisfied with this response or
you might be pushed for a commitment with a question such as
Well you must have some idea of your financial needs.
For this situation, you must have a range of pay to offer the employer
with a very limited commitment to any particular dollar amount.
In order to do this, you have to know your financial requirements,
wants and needs, as well as the typical range of pay for this type of job in this marketplace.
With this information, you are more prepared to handle this question.
Stick to a range, never say
The absolute least I will take is
Or
My ideal salary would be
Instead response with an answer such as this.
As I mentioned, I don't feel I have enough information on this job
to commit an exact dollar amount,
but based on my knowledge of salary ranges for this position
and my own personal salary requirements,
I am expecting this job would pay somewhere in the 60s.
Now, the next time you talk about salary with the employer will most likely be
when you receive the offer.
If the employer says—
We would like to offer you $52000.
Thank him, and ask what else what the offer involves.
You need to know whether this is the base or the complete package you have been offered,
because a $52000 salary could really be more like an $86000 offer if there are added pieces.
These pieces might include a signing bonus,
annual or quarterly structured bonuses
or variable payment plans
such as profit sharing
or stock options.
More frequent reviews tie to more frequent raises,
educational benefits that you plan to use,
retirement and termination pay,
paid vacation,
mileage reimbursement or a car,
overtime
or health insurance.
Once you understand the offer, ask for time to think about it.
It is acceptable to ask for up to a week to do so.
You should ask this at a face-to-face appointment to get back together
so you can negotiate in person.
When you meet, tell the employer that you have thought it over,
that you greatly appreciate the offer,
but would like to know if there are points that are negotiable.
You might say
I was hoping that with the expertise and history of results that I would bring to your company
that you would offer me a higher base.
You might bring with you supporting information to add credence to your request.
For instance, a Marketing Director
might create a marketing plan to show her ideas for the company.
If there appears to be limited negotiation opportunity, don't give up.
Ask about the possibility of being given a different job title or classification
or incorporating other performance based pay incentives, bonuses
or reviews, beyond what has already been discussed.
Hopefully, you can turn in your offer into the dream opportunity you were seeking.
But don't be afraid to walk away if you cannot negotiate a realistic offer that you deserve.
You now have the steps necessary to go out there and ace your job interview.
If you prepare effectively and strategically,
the perfect job is out there and you will land it soon.

Transcripts
Hi! I am Laura Decarlo,
certified interview coach and President of the Professional Association
of Resume Writers and Career Coaches, Career Directors International.
I am sharing strategies for planning to ace your job interview.
Right now, I am going to talk about what to bring,
what to expect and how to thrive in your interview.
You have done your company homework,
selected appropriate attire,
practiced your answers
and now you have made it to the interview.
Your first step would be to make a dry run.
If you don't know where the company is
or what traffic would be like to get there,
try it out once in advance.
Second, gather your materials.
You will want to bring your portfolio if you made one,
a pen,
four copies of your resume,
a copy of your cover letter,
copies of up to three letters of recommendation,
something to take notes on like a legal pad,
highlights of your research,
a list of questions you want to ask, just in case,
a pre-filled out employment application
so that you can copy the information without leaving blanks on the company's application,
some type of carrying case such as a folder or a briefcase.
Next, you want to arrive 15 minutes early to the interview.
In the waiting area, be polite and professional with those you encounter,
as they will report your behavior to the interviewer.
When you meet the interviewer, smile, make good eye contact and use a firm handshake.
Now, while you could find yourself in many types of interviews,
I am going to discuss the most common which is the one-on-one interview,
where you meet directly with one interviewer.
As will be the case in any type of interview, be courteous and ask if you may take a seat.
Throughout the interview, pay attention, listen and continue to make eye-contact.
When you sit in the chair, concentrate on keeping still.
Typically, when people are nervous, they tend to fidget.
Psychologists say that the best sitting position for interviewing
and the safest for not squirming is
feet flat on the floor, hands on your lap
leaning slightly forward in your seat.
Now, be yourself.
Hopefully you have practiced enough to be comfortable.
Don't try too hard to be so professional
that you seem stiff and unnatural.
Many people hurt their interview by trying so hard to make a good impression
that they come across as having no personality.
Expect the interview to start with a few get-acquainted questions
before they get into the real ones.
Provide solid powerful answers to make the best impression possible
and don't forget to show your portfolio as proof.
Typically, the interviewer will then ask if you have any questions you would like to ask.
You definitely want to be prepared with questions.
The questions you ask are just as important as the questions you answer.
Not only will they help you learn more about the job,
but they will also demonstrate what is most important to you.
Don't be fooled about the value of these questions.
Now it's not the time to ask about benefits and salary and overtime.
At this point, you are still in the selection process.
Until you have an offer, you do not have the job.
Only when you have an offer and you are the employer's choice
should you can talk about selfish questions such as salary.
When selecting questions, you should try to focus on questions
that show your interest in the company and the position.
Try to have questions based on your research that demonstrate your knowledge as well.
For instance, you might ask questions like,
I have heard that you are planning to open a new location in Orlando,
how is that going to affect this facility?
Are you going to just relocate or keep both locations?
You should be prepared to ask about ten questions at your interview, just in case.
Before you leave the interview, be sure to thank the interviewer for his or her time,
offer your references and ask about the next step in the process.
Confidently shake hands and be on your way.
You did it.
When you get home, be sure to write a follow- up thank you letter to the interviewer
which reiterates your match for the position and your interest in the next step.
Now, there are only a few steps left to make sure your interview is a success.
Next, I will share with you how to handle questions about salary requirements
to ensure you end up with the best offer possible.
