Lots of people – including many students and those who teach English think that the grammar is the most important part of a language. And lots of people believe that by learning the grammar, you learn a language.We don’t think this is completely true. Instead, we think of grammar as the basic building blocks of a language when you know grammar, you know things like past tense verbs, how to use conditional forms, how to form questions and so on. But building blocks (the grammar) aren’t much use unless you know how to put them together to create a useful object (communicating
with others). Even if you know about all the rules in the English language, if you don’t know how to apply them when talking to others, this knowledge isn’t much use.

Hi guys, how are you doing? This is JACK again, i just came back from Guangzhou, and i was trained to be a better English teacher.It's been a long time since i got my TEM 8, test for English Majors, and i was busy with hunting jobs, eventually, i foud a better one.

At the very beginning, i speak English even after class, so almost all the students thought i was a foreign teacher, you know what? i think there must be a reason behind it, and the reason is that i speak exactly the same as the foreigners do, and i got perfect pronunciation, no wonder that they can hardly distinguish the accent.

Another reason i think is that i think like a foreigner, that is to say, i think in an English way, that i should owe to the training of English definition.

Anyway, it's cool to be back and started my teaching job again.

    终于毕业了，时间真是如白驹过隙啊，大学四年就这么过去了，感觉还真有点一只脚刚踏进校园，另外一只脚又要踏出去，有点不知所措，确实有点迷茫啊，难道人生就是这样子的？学校出来就是工作？工作后呢？前段时间刚把老板给fire掉，工作很promissing，只是我受不了没有休息，给我20万年薪我都不干了，因为和朋友聚聚，和家人聚聚，以及自己的自由才是最重要的，不然挣了钱都没有时间花，都不知道怎么花也没有意思啊，所以辞掉了，再重新找一份合适的吧。很多朋友都认为我的英语好找什么工作都很容易，其实不然啊，英语好不一定找得到好工作的，千里马也要有伯乐才行的啊，没有伯乐的话被人当驴使还不知道呢。这几天多了几次面试，什么经验都积累一些先吧，是我的终究是我的，我认为机遇还是很重要的，当机会来的时候，首先要做好抓住这个机遇的准备，机遇不都是给有准备的人的吗，我不知道自己什么时候能准备好，不过自己在准备着了。

今天英语专业八级终于考完了，历时195分钟，感觉这次比历届都要难点，其他同学也是这样说，时间很紧，min-lecture还可以吧，只有一个没有听到，其他的都写出来了，其他的新闻听力总觉得内容有点难，即使这次语速慢了点，有些选项不是很有把握，阅读都觉得很飘！就是说做完了还不知道讲什么东西，不像之前做的练习或真题那样，人文知识也有点偏，改错不是很有把握，翻译最后一篇比较难，差点不够时间翻，写作开头打了一下稿而已，不过应该写得还行，等成绩吧！

接下来就是论文了，教师资格证也快拿到了，虽然自己不是师范专业的，但跟师范专业的同学比，我的教学经验一点不比他们少，比很多人都多。教师是一个非常神圣的职业，很多人只是把教师作为职业来做的话，那他算不上是一位优秀的老师，或许合格的都算不上，我们常常听到“教育事业”。在我看来，把教师当做自己的事业的人才可能是合格的老师，而把教师当做“志业”的人才算得上优秀的老师......

很庆幸这次寒假没有虚度，总算做了9套8级模拟题，最后一套前天回到学校也完成了，还剩不到两个星期的时间就要考英语专业8级了，看来这几天要跟它拼了！不是它死，就是我亡！不过我不可能在这几天就挂掉的啊，所以，我肯定能战胜小小的专8 的，i can defeat it! and i must defeat it! 我相信一个英语专业的学生在一个月内是可以突破专8的，我就拿自己做实验吧，以前经常听到别人说专业四级不用怎么复习的，对已经过了的人来说，肯定是站着说话不腰疼了，现在我也过了，我也可以这么说啊，想当年考专四的时候啊，我一本词汇书都没有背，这是事实，不过背了十几篇优秀的作文，其实也不怎么优秀，只不过比我写的稍微好点，自从被老外教了作文之后就发现我们国内比如说星火出版的那些英语作文其实还是挺啰嗦的，比较符合国情，评卷老师应该比较喜欢，可悲啊！

发现专8的作文跟托福的作文挺相似的，建议大家去看一本“满分作文”新东方出版的托福作文，非常不错！

1. Step 1: Test Yourself

   Start by testing your current reading rate. This is done through a simple formula. Use a timer with a second hand to read a piece of material. Once you have completed the reading and have your time, take the whole number and multiply it by 60, then add any seconds to that number. Next, divide the total seconds into the number of words read. Round this number and you have your words per second total; multiply that number by 60 and there you have your words per minute total.

2. Step 2: Scanning

   Not every word is important to understanding, so train your eyes to read groups of words. Ignore articles and words like, 'the', 'a', and, 'or'. Focus on the action words or verbs. Practice quickly scanning groups or chunks of words.

我们中国有很多英语作文出版物，特别是为国家四六级，英语专业四八级准备的作文，其实大部分都是学生自己写的，只是挑选了比较优秀的，然后经过修改就弄成书了，没有什么了不起的，很多人还拿来当范文背诵呢，我自己当年也背过，虽然也觉得他们写的很一般，但考试就需要这种模式，还真是可笑啊，没有办法，还得走这一套。我总结了一下，这些也是我以前的外教老师教我的写出好文章的一些原则，与大家共享，当然下面这些不全是我自己写的，但加入了自己的一些体验，相信会给大家带来更深的感受。好东西应该跟大家分享的。

一、长短句原则

工作还得一张一驰呢，老让读者读长句，累死人！写一个短小精辟的句子，相反，却可以起到画龙点睛的作用。而且如果我们把短句放在段首或者段末，也可以揭示主题：
As a creature, I eat; as a man, I read. Although one action is to meet the primary need of my body and the other is to satisfy the intellectual need of mind, they are in a way quite similar.
如此可见，长短句结合，抑扬顿挫，我以前的外教是这样教的，最好一长两短，或一长一短。
