LiliAna Rose (born 15 Jun
1984), is a folk-pop, singer-songwriter from New York City, of
English and Italian descent. She is best known for a reimagining of
the classic "You Are My Sunshine." Rose has been a fixture of the
West Village acoustic scene since her debut at The Bitter End in
2000.

The words to "Danny Boy" were written by English lawyer and
lyricist Frederic Weatherly in 1910. Although the lyrics were
originally written for a different tune, Weatherly modified them to
fit the "Londonderry Air" in 1913, after his sister-in-law in the
U.S. sent him a copy.[2] Ernestine Schumann-Heink made the first
recording in 1915. Weatherly gave the song to the vocalist Elsie
Griffin, who in turn made it one of the most popular songs in the
new century.

Ave was the general greeting in Latin. It translates as
"Hail"
Ave Cesar, for example. "Hail Cesar!"
Some hymns use latin in their lyrics, "Adeste fideles, Laeti
triumphantes" is "O come all ye faithful" for example.
And the "Ave Maria" is another latin lyric. The "Hail Mary"
Danny Boy is referring to Ave Maria, or "Hail Mary", a catholic
prayer.
