Flash Cards
This time I'll talk about Flash cards and a program called Anki for spaced repetition.

Using flash cards is a great way to increase your vocabulary but only if you review the vocabulary often and use it. You have to use the word 40 times in 3 months (my opinion) in order to retain (remember) it.

Look at the picture here. You need to review the word 1 day later, then the next day, then 4 days later, 19 days later, and then a month later.

  今天professor教大家发音，如何连读，最后是练习英语绕口令，我个人认为英语的连读很重要，说出自然的，流利的英语，必须要说会连读，美国人连读很多，英国人就很少，在上课的时候Mr.hammod是英国人，读绕口令时完全不和美国人一样。

连读的是连接的发音如果是元音，就是AEIOU，就连前面的辅音组成新的音节，一起发音，举个昨晚的例子：

    A 79-year-old man was slightly injured on Saturday while waiting in his brand new convertible in a drive-through lane at Burger Prince restaurant

   上面的开始是元音的单词是 old on in  at,比如year-old,就可以连起来读yearold, slightly injured连起来 slight lyinjured很有趣是不是，下面是professor按连读发音修改好的了。

   A 79-yea rold man was slight lyinjured on Saturday while wait ingin his brand new convertib leina drive-through la neat Burger Prince restaurant.

Hey Cyprisians!  Last week the lesson was a little hard, so this week I'll give you a break!  Monday 6AM at Cypris Village we'll work on using the proper prepositions after verbs.  That's not totally easy, sure, but it is important when speaking English.  This will be mostly for intermediate and advanced learners, but beginners are welcome, too!

Here is the background information for the murder:

Alfred William Fredrick Jameson III, 67, was the very wealthy head of a pharmaceutical company. His long-time butler, Parker, found him dead in his study at 6:00 A.M. Police think Mr. Jameson was murdered sometime between 1:00 and 1:30 this morning. The police found the footprints of a man’s shoe just outside the study window, next to the bushes.

The police have given a list of suspects:
Mrs. Margaret Jameson, 24, boring wife of Alfred Jameson
Jori Jameson, 32, nerdy daughter of Alfred Jameson
Neil Martin, 67, childhood friend and dirty business partner
Parker, 70, uptight butler

Using this information, go through the clues one at a time and try to figure out the
identity of the killer.
