Prof. Haihua PAN received his PhD from the Universityof Texas at Austin, USA and MA from Wuhan University, China. Hejoined the Chinese University of Hong Kong in December, 2015.Previously he taught at City University of Hong Kong (7/1995 -12/2015), Huazhong University of Science &Technology, Wuhan, China (7/1986 - 7/1988), and was a ResearchAssociate at the Chinese University of Hong Kong for six months in1995. He was awarded the Changjiang Scholar-Chair Professor by theMinistry of Education, China in September 2012 and the KC WongFoundation (王寬誠基金會) Scholar in 2010. He was a Visiting Professor atthe Department of Linguistics at University of Paris 7 in June2014. He has published two research books on Chinese reflexives andformal semantics and edited two on Chinese linguistics and focus.He is a reviewer of prestigious international journals such asLanguage, Linguistic Inquiry,《中國語文》, 《當代語言學》, Natural Language andLinguistic Theory, Lingua, Language Sciences, Linguistics, Journalof Linguistics, Natural Language Semantics, Journal of East AsianLinguistics, etc. He was Associate Dean of theCollege of Humanitiesand Social Sciences, City University of Hong Kong, responsible forPostgraduate Education and Research during 8/2005 - 9/2010. Heserved on the Executive Committee of the International Associationof Chinese Linguistics (2004-2006), and was the President of theLinguistic Society of Hong Kong during 2010 - 2011.
