                April Showers Bring May Flowers

From the golden-tipped fields of mid-west America to the ancient kingdoms of verdant Palestine, there is a happy truth to be shared with all who would take heed. In more recent times, this truth has been expressed as: April showers bring May flowers. This is a truth that promises light bursting from darkness, strength born from weakness and, if one dares to believe, life emerging from death.

Farmers all over the world know the importance and immutability of the seasons. They know that there is a season to plant and a season to harvest; everything must be done in its own time. Although the rain pours down with the utmost relentlessness, ceasing all outdoor activities, the man of the field lifts his face to the heavens and smiles. Despite the inconvenience, he knows that the rain provides the nourishment his crops need

                   Write your own life
[ 2006-05-06 08:30 ]

Suppose someone gave you a pen - a sealed, solid-colored pen. You couldn't see how much ink it had. It might run dry after the first few tentative words or last just long enough to create a masterpiece (or several) that would last forever and make a difference in the scheme of things. You don't know before you begin. Under the rules of the game, you really never know. You have to take a chance!

Actually, no rul

Tonight, Let Me Think of You in Silence - Translated by Rhapsodia (Second Edition)

Tonight, parking myself in a corner, I think of you in silence
Wondering what you are doing, wondering if you are thinking of me Wondering if my figure passes your eyes when you gaze in distance Wondering, if you can see me waiting at the gate of your fancy dream
I just love to sit here thinking of you in silence
Though I am not sure if the other side can really sense this thinking occurrence
If you feel frequent, weird touches at your heart
Do you know it is me who’s thinking of you in silence from distance?
Just think of you like this quietly, calling your name at the bottom of my heart
I am indeed longing for voicing your name out aloud in this calm sky of night
Despite that, the dark night won’t send my wish far as I know quite
I still believe, you are able to hear me,

Tonight, Let Me Miss You Silently

想知道你在做什么,想知道你有没有在想我;
想知道当你凝视远方的时候,你的眼前是否划过我的身影;

Tonight, I sit in a corner gloomily and miss you silently.
I wonder what you are doing and whether you are missing me;
I wonder whether my figure will come to your sight when you gaze at the distance;
I wonder whether you will see me waiting at the gate of your dream when you fall into your sweet dream.
I just like to sit here and miss you silently.

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become.

You never know who these people may be - a roommate, a neighbor, a professor, a friend, a lover, or even a complete stranger - but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment they will affect your life in some profound way.

Sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first, but in reflection you find that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower, or heart.

Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, whatever they may be, life would be like a smoothly paved straight flat road to nowhere. It would be safe and comfortable, but dull and ut

Dance like No one's watching

We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we will be more content when they are. After that we're frustrated that we have teen-agers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage. We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice vacation, when we retire.

The truth is, there is no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when?

Your life will always be filled with challenges. It is best to admit this to yourself and decid

Most people need to hear those 'three little words' I love you. Once in a while, they hear them just in time.
I met Connie the day she was admitted to the hospice ward, where I worked as a volunteer. Her husband, Bill, stood nervously nearby as she was transferred from the gurney to the hospital bed. Although Connie was in the final stages of her fight against cancer, she was alert and cheerful. We got her settled in. I finished marking her name on all the hospital supplies she would be using, then asked if she needed anything.
'Oh, yes,' she said, 'would you please show me how to use the TV? I enjoy the soaps so much and I don't want to get behind on what's happening.' Connie was a romantic. She loved soap operas, romance novels and movies with a good love story. As we became acquainted, she confided how frustrating it was to be married 32 years to a man who often called her 'a silly woman.'
'Oh, I know Bill loves me,' she
